I hope that Lyris's surgery is successful and they recover fast! It's always nerve wracking, but these things must be done. Good luck with today ❤.

I never knew about Ivermectan when I had piggies. I DID learn about ringworm Twice. I bathed Nibbles but also had to see my own GP for cream for myself. Then, when I got girls, I caught it from Maria but at least I knew how to treat her. Thanks Scotty 🙏❤️

One of ours got mange a few yrs back, we have no idea from where. she was extra grumpy about it so it was caught kinda quick because she chewed an open wound inter her back and then the day before the vet app (we didn't totally know what it was yet) she chewed a similar wound into the other side making that V mark. I had already watched your videos with mange and was able to make her a turtle neck that she freaked out and complained about but it was cured and her wounds healed nicely. we had to treat the whole herd because we didn't know were it had come from or if anyone else just wasn't showing symptoms yet.

Yes, keeping them indoors protects them and there doesn't seem to be any major contagious diseases that affect them like there is with dogs and cats. Ivermectin is really good and has been used safely for years. It's capabilities of fighting diseases in humans got put on the back burner because of the new medicines always being developed. Thank you for the great video Scotty 👍🐹🐹🐹🐹

To be clear, Ivermectin is an antiparasitic medicine and it does not work on fungus or viruses.
@beverleymason9038Ай бұрын
@ScottysAnimals as I've said, it's been used for a long time Scotty, and no one is going to try to use it on their piggies for anything other than as an anti-parasitic. It won a Nobel prize in 2015 for reducing mortality rates in people with Malaria. Amazing stuff.

As always, great video Scotty! It has been a long time since we have had issues with mites. We also have had success in the past treating mites with the Horse Ivermectin Paste from Amazon. We apply a very small amount behind the piggies ears when we noticed them scratching and hair loss. Mites tend to show up in our piggies in times we have purchased hay from one of the big box stores. Since we have started to purchase our hay from Small Pet Select, this issue is non existent.😊

We've had this problem with our buns when buying a big bag of hay online, fleas, too. Its annoying, so it's great that Scotty is offering a solution!! ❤

@@vl7958 it's brilliant stuff. Even the benefits of its uses on humans are "allowed" to be made public, after all the censorship of the past 3 years. There's an nih.gov article on it for the disbelievers.

Should probably have also explained that even when you’re not showing your animals, or bringing them or having any interactions with the outside world or outside pigs or outside yard, you still need to ivermectin them. (and including the chemical that makes up ivermectin because ivermectin is just a brand and you can get the off brands.) or use another type of chemical in the brand revolution which is available with without a prescription online anywhere in the world shipped from Canada Longer lasting too. But it comes in on the fresh hay that we feed, mites can come in on that stuff, especially static lice. And mentioning that I’m it was originally made for human use, and that it is perfectly safe to use and get on your yourself if an accident does occur. Just don’t pour it on your animal because that would be like too much of a dose.
