I use a heating method passed on to me by my aunt over 20 years ago, and always get compliments on my eyelashes. Just don’t do it around anyone, they will think you’re crazy and shooting up lol I lightly heat a silver spoon with a lighter, then place my thumb under the eyelash and the spoon on the top. I gently glide the spoon over my thumb, thus curling the eyelashes. I then slightly heat my eyelash curler, and after using those two methods seal the curl with waterproof mascara. ❤

Yeah heating the spoon up,especially around people that don't know what your doing, might raise some eyebrows😂😂

When we are 98.6f, 113, isn't that hot. I blow my blowdryer on my metal curler, and then test it until it's just warm. Works great.

I'm so glad you covered this. I hate manual eye lash curlers so I bought one of these a few months ago, but have been concerned about the effect on my lashes. Mine curls best after using mascara but I was concerned about the impact of heating mascara on my lashes, so after a few tries I just quit using it. (I'm getting older and my once lush lashes are a thing of the past. I certainly didn't want to make it any worse.) My lowest temp is 60C (140F), so no more for me. Also it's not the easiest thing to clean with melted mascara all over it. I guess I'll try to get used to false lashes on the outer ends! I just love your tips. Especially, I have been using the alcohol prep pads on my eye liner pencil after use since your video and I feel much better about the cleanliness. What a great idea!

I love the new technology one from Grande Lash lift Heated Lash curler. You can use it before or after mascara without any damage to your lashes or skin. I use it for 10 seconds wiggling upward per 3 sections , outer corner, midsection and inner. WORKS FANTASTIC & LAST ALL DAY

Thanks for making this video! I love my heated lash curler. I get best curl results when I use a manual lash curler, use my Maybelline or GrandeCosmetics eyelash repairing/strengthening conditioners, wait a couple minutes and then use my heated lash curler. I don’t use my heated curler every single day but I do use it nearly half as often which is still significant. I rechecked the description for the rechargeable heated lash curler I own and it says the high setting heats up to 60°C _(140°F),_ the medium setting heats up to 50°C _(122°F)_ and the low setting heats up to 40°C _(104°F)._ The high setting does work the best for curling my lashes but the other two settings still provides visible increased curl that I can’t get from a manual lash curler alone. Because of your video I’ve decided that if I’m going to continue to use it then the most responsible for me to: 1.minimize contact by taking care to not leave it on my lashes longer than necessary anymore in attempt to slightly “amplify” the curl effect 2.stick to only using the lowest setting the majority of the time 3.limit use of the medium setting to only on days I don’t wear any makeup at all so I don’t feel self conscious about the way my eyes look 4.remember that the to only use the high setting very rarely/on special occasions _(if ever)_ Since I doubt hair heat protectant is safe to use anywhere near the eyes I’ll also keep using one of my eyelash conditioners before using the heated curler and now I’ll start to make sure to use one of them at every night too as part of my evening skincare routine regardless if I used the heated curler that day or not in order to mitigate the effects of heat on my lashes by using the conditioners more often than the heated curler. I infer this would be a good enough regime preventing lash breakage/brittleness by strengthening them, to mitigate dryness by replacing any lost hydration & oils and for preemptive ”damage control”/repairing Never had an issue with the heated curler before but it’s probably best to not assume things will always be that way.

You are absolutely right, it is best to assume problems could occur when heating your eyelashes. It isn't worth it! Thank you for sharing your experiences and what you have learned from the video. I really appreciate it!

I have heard of women using their blow dryer to heat a traditional eyelash curler. Any thoughts on this technique?
@teenamarshall6991

I put my eyelash curler under my arm before I start putting on my make up. By the time I am ready to use it the curler is warm and curls much better. I have tried the blow dryer which works but more effort than I am interested in doing.

I just recently got a heated lash curler…but have not taken out of the box yet. It does have a settable temperature mode, so I wonder what would be a good temperature to set it without getting burned. If I keep it under 100 F, would that be ok ?

I'm shocked, these things can get hot enough, to burn you? Wouldn't the manufacturers get sued?
@pamthetraveler7224
@pamthetraveler7224 2 жыл бұрын
Why would you sue the manufacturer if you choose to buy an appliance that can burn you…then burn yourself? They didn’t burn you. Do you sue the fridge mfg when you get an ice cube stuck to your tongue or burn your hand getting a roast out of the oven? In all cases if you use items properly hen you won’t need to sue anyone. And if you don’t use it properly, why sue and let lawyers make more money and raise prices for others when the mfg didn’t burn you. Do you use curling irons or hot glue guns or lighters to light candles?
@raraavis7782
@raraavis7782 2 жыл бұрын
@@pamthetraveler7224 You said it yourself...if used properly, the appliance shouldn't cause harm. Something, you use right next to your eyes shouldn't get hot enough, to burn you. It's simply a case of a badly designed, unnecessarily and unexpectedly dangerous item. End of story.
@pamthetraveler7224
@pamthetraveler7224 2 жыл бұрын
@@raraavis7782 I call this a Darwin item. If people are inclined to buy it, then there will always be someone to supply it. But some things need extra care. Chainsaws are used extremely close to body parts. Eyelash curler is too. We disagree on whether they should be created but I think supply demand should set the decision. People use sharp tweezers near their eyeball, or other things that can maim or kill. If we stopped creating products because it “might” cause harm, we wouldn’t have cars. They hurt more people than eye lash curlers. Splashing bleach/household chemicals probably does too.

Ahhhhh I’m learning SO SO SO LUCH WITH YOU. Thank you for such amazing content!!!! I need serious help please!!!! In my right eyes the whole upper corner of it, I grow lashes that go inside my eyes and it pokes it and it feels so so so bad. I have been taking it out with tweezers since I’m 13 (it’s been 13 years now) but I feel like they are growing back faster than ever before and it’s driving me absolutely crazy. Where should I go? What can I do? I once went to an eye doctor after I discovered this and cut it with sissors (young wild kid!) and absolute bashed me and called all sorts of things from crazy to well… a lot for a kid my age and I was just traumatized. But this is getting really uncomfortable and I have to be plucking weekly!!!!!!!!! A video on this would be so so so so so good to me!!!

I can't provide specific medical advice - but I would make sure you're seeing an ophthalmologist. There are treatments for trichiasis/dystichiasis beyond just removing the lashes with tweezers. Best is to see an oculoplastics specialist. Hope that helps.

Thank you for all your content! Could you make a video on manual eyelash curlers? I started using one and love it, but got a chalazion and an infected stye a few months later. I also have dysfunctional meibomian glands. My eye docs all told me that curlers cant trigger styes/ dont affect the glands in any way. Still, I'm worried about using my curler again. Could you perhaps make a video on the safety and risks of manual eyelash curlers? x
