They are probably really big so that the battery pack is higher than a snow boot or ski boot...

What is the life line of this sock ? What if becomes faulty after using few days?

Dunno but I have had them since creating this video and they still work great. Even after washing the batteries by mistake a few times

By mistake.. haha. You can disconnect the battery and I was told you can wash them normally once disconnected and dry on low heat
