Hi Todd. I have chalk Panamera which has been full body PPFd and also has been coated. I’m confused between Polish Angel’s Graphene Spritz/Cosmic Spritz/High Gloss for maintenance. Please help!

When the wipers are on, do you get a ghosting?
@Esotericdetail Жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by ghosting, but have never seen anything "out of the ordinary" after applying it to my personal cars.
@douggreen980 Жыл бұрын
@@Esotericdetail Thank you for your reply! By ghosting I am referring to when the wiper blade swipes and there is a second or two of a white haze that appears, and then it disappears until the next swipe. I have seen this occur with a number of window coatings including the new Gyeon Glass +, Angelwax H2Go, and GTechniq G5.
@mad_bad_cat10 ай бұрын
@@douggreen980 This is very true, I have tried almost every brand and option out there. Always that second-long haze. I am yet to see a video that touches on this subject. Yes, these products do not need wipers at highway speeds, sure, but city-driving is a different game. The moment you touch the wipers, you are blind, especially at night with oncoming traffic's headlights or street lights. I always end up removing them with cerium oxide after trying for a day. I had best luck with Glassparency, which I was able to apply myself when they sold to public for a limited time. It actually had very minimal hazing, and also performed the best. Everything else was thrash. Living in Vancouver, we deal with all kinds of rain/snow, and wipers are a must.
@douggreen98010 ай бұрын
@mad_bad_cat Gtechniq G1 and G2 have basically no haze after the wipers swipe and it seems to last pretty good. The negative with G1 is that it is not quite as hydrophobic and some of the others.

Any tips on how to remove existing glass coatings? IPA clay?
@Esotericdetail Жыл бұрын
You could use a light glass polish, or something like Kamikaze-Collection's No. 5 Cleanser.

Does it help to polish the glass first with a DA? Also, can this be product be used on the glass roof of the car?

I'm not big on polishing glass with a DA. Yes, great for glass roofs as well as I have done it on several of mine.

@waxmanvids5015 installation was super easy, and from my experience the best coating I've applied to my windows I don't drive in the rain with my wipers anymore it's insane. I've used Gyeon before this and others like aquapell and fuso etc but yeah this is my fav!

Is using a clay bar on a glass/windshield going to scratch it or be detrimental in any way?
@KiloRomeoOscar10 ай бұрын
As long as you're using fresh clay, a lubricant and the glass is clean absolutely not, glass in contrast to clear coat is extremely hard and you will not impart the marring you will typically see on clearcoat. Its worth adding if you have existing protection in the form of a dedicated glass coating or an si02 spray on/rinse product you will need to remove that before applying a product of this nature as it chemically bonds to the substrate thus ensuring the best longevity from the coating. This can be achieved from polishing the glass with a medium compound and foam pad you would use for paintwork, ensure you use panel wipe after removal to dissolve any lingering oils, a dedicated glass polish would also be utilised in this scenario (cerum oxide) with a rayon pad/with interface dependant on the age of the substrate. For newer unprotected vehicles a clay bar and panel wipe will be sufficient, just ensure you don't get the panel wipe near any aftermarket tints as it is prone to damaging them.

Can you apply this in direct sunlight? Thank you.
@Esotericdetail Жыл бұрын
Like most coatings or detailing products, it's not recommended as the surface temperature will be too high.

Will the wiper blade performance be affected by windscreen coatings ?
@Esotericdetail Жыл бұрын
Should make it more effective...
@brianv177 Жыл бұрын
@@Esotericdetail Some windscreen coatings make wiper blades shudder. Is this because of incorrect application or low-quality coating?
@Esotericdetail Жыл бұрын
@@brianv177 Lots of variables here, also including the type/condition of the blade, the amount of pressure designed into the wiper arm, etc. Some cars are simply more prone to shudder than others with all things being equal.

Excellent! I’ve was hoping you guys would do a video on the window coat from Kamikaze. I’ve had a horrible time with window coatings. My biggest problem is wiper chatter even when applying to the wiper itself. How is this product with the wipers? Have you heard of anyone complaining about the chatter issue?
@flicksifyr6793 Жыл бұрын
chatter is usually only for the first couple days. then it goes away and is smooth
@larrysing Жыл бұрын
I’ve found that if the coating is good enough, you don’t need your wipers AT ALL. I drove an hour & a half about 3 months ago in the rain with my current coating & never even turned the wipers on once. My wipers get less action than the Maytag Man.
@gregsullivan7408 Жыл бұрын
FWIW, I experience zero chatter with Angelwax H2GO, but it's a sealant, not a "coating"

Over the many years of working with window coatings, I have found that to be more of a vehicle-specific issue. Some cars just seem to get it (for a short period of time), while others do not. There are so many variables involved...
