Very cool comparison…Very impressed you were able to put a good swing on two different drivers back to back each time! I find I need a few swings between drivers to get used to a new driver, especially if they are dramatically different, like a SIM2 (which I currently play), and the Callaway Epic…nicely done. I also love your displeasure at not getting your wedge inside 10 feet from 80 yards out! LOL…I think tour average from that distance is like 20 feet…

Great video to test on course! What is keep in perspective: it took a draw shot with the Epic to edge out a fade shot with the Sim2, and you yourself said you felt you put a better swing on the Epic on the 5th shot and the Sim2 still beat it. Using on course experience is really helpful so long as perspective is used. On the similar shaped shots, the Sim2 was much better like you saw on the simulator. Again, great video!!!

felt weird not hearing the music at the end lol. Glad the Sim2 was the winner for ya! On hole 2 though wouldn't it make more sense to measure distance back to the tee to know which one went farther? the angle of the green from where they lay I don't think tells the story properly. Awesome video though and very pure review. another top notch episode

I would have buyer's remorse if I paid over $500 for very little difference. I'm going to Golf Tec soon to compare my XR16 to a Mizuno. When it comes time to pony up I'll see how much improvement I get and if I'm willing to pay $400 for it. My initial thoughts are if I don't get close to 10 yards and tighter dispersion I'll stick with what I've got.

Great Video!! I tested the SIM 2 against the STX last week and preferred the STX, but it was very close. I am a shorter hitter that tends to miss right and the distance on the SIM may have been a touch longer, but the STZ was more forgiving and I liked the ball flight better. And Carrolwood is a great looking course. I get down to your area a few times a year so I have played a few courses around there and Carrollwood looks to be better than most of the ones I have played.
@LetsPlayThru3 жыл бұрын
Yes if you’re missing right I think the STX is the right choice. And yes, they are so very close. Just depends on what you feel more confident swinging and if you need those few extra yards or if consistency is more important.

a bit late to the party but I got a Sim 2 in 10.5 with a ventus blue R shaft . It was that or the stealth. I opted for the Sim 2 because I think it’s dispersion is better for me , I am a 19 handicapper with a ball speed of 135 so I need a lower spinning head to get extra length and less spin on my poorer shots . Time will tell it worked well on the range. Thanks for the video.

@adrianlovett34832 жыл бұрын
@@LetsPlayThru A factor not many people are talking about is the look of the stealth at address , the all black is not as good as the Sim2 for framing the ball , and for me set up is so easy with the Sim2 . When I took the Stealth out I had a number of straight left shots because the face must have been set too closed . The Sim2 seems much more consistent because it’s easy to see the face angle 📐. Driver all comes down to personal choice. Its such a minimal difference, sure you may get a few more yards, but is it really dropping strokes? Really comes down to how you feel when you pull the club from the bag. Confidence and excitement for a new club can make it all worth it. Hard to have buyers remorse when a club makes you wanna play golf. Plus you'll get some decent money back when you sell your epic

I had the original Epic too, loved it, but replaced it last year with a Sim Max for 2 reasons. 1) less spin and more run out with roughly the same carry, and 2) the Sim had noticeably less shock on miss hits. I'm 65 with 105+ swing speed and anything to reduce shock in the old joints has high value:) Have you noticed any shock differences between your Epic and the Sim2? I'm wondering if I'm getting delusional in my advancing years or the carbon in the Sim head is paying dividends:) I very much enjoy your videos and recently purchased a new set of Ping 425 irons based in large part on your 2021 iron comparison video!

Honestly, I would consider that the most telling test of all. It might not be completely apparent from the shot tracer, but the SIM2 flew at least 20 yards further in the air. Trees are pretty sparse and I heard no audible thunk from either shot. It was the difference of getting into a bad spot VS something that was reasonably playable.

Not sure the 30 yards difference when hitting into trees is very valid:) Enjoyed the video though

Thanks 🙏

Yeah, I would imagine the loss of 30 yards would be because it hit a tree lol

See if the golf shop will let us demo the Mizuno on the course against the Sim 2?

Dispersion is sometimes better than distance, sim2 will let you down most of the time.

Not the swing of a 5 handicap. You don't have to lie to kick it.

Nice looking course. Too much talking not enough swinging. Would have been better if used two drives on each hole for each driver. Nailing a drive vs sort of mis-hitting the other drive don't tell much.

Can you give Rory some lessons on how to hit this driver.😉🤪
@LetsPlayThru3 жыл бұрын
Ha, he’s fiddling with his swing a bit too much I hear. Either way I’m sure he would carry passed my roll out and probably much more accurate

2nd hole Sim2 was a fade. Shouldn't have outdriven a draw.

The SIM 2 is probably one of the best drivers on the planet.

The epic is every bit as long as the sim 2 And you seem to be making excuses for the sim.....🧐
@stevemk4st6493 жыл бұрын
Got to agree. One hole where you pulled both drivers left, had there been water further up where the Sim landed would have been a different story.....For me nothing in it, and all down to how you swing and strike the ball. Both clubs equally as good. Would it be worth the huge expense to upgrade.....for me.....no....Bottom line though is if you are happy that is all that matters.
