Ken, that's not a bad idea. If you plan to go to the airlines or if you want that 4-year degree, it's certainly something a lot of people do. As far as starting, I would start around 15-16 for flight training, knowing that you can't do your first solo until 16 and get your license until 17. You could start ground school younger since the knowledge will be there and can be repeated. Find a ground school that charges a one time fee (ours does) rather than hitting you up every year with expensive fees.

In the United States, you can get two types of degrees after high school. A 2-year or a 4-year degree. These are called University Diploma in other countries. The number of years refers to how many year it typically takes to receive the degree. A 2-year degree is done at a college and is called an Associate Degree, while a 4-year degree is done at a university and is called a Bachelor's degree.
