Lori is absolutely correct, for me....Always ground balance, preferably manually if you can be bothered. Now and then, stand still, hit PP, hold PP button in, and do a slowish, up 8" down 7" to hear if GB has gone + or -. If it has, do a GB, preferably manualy. Your original GB is your 'self-pre-set' reference point, so a manual GBing takes very little time at all, and is precise. If GB is out, it will compromise Disc. More so on 'sparky' 12 kHz + VLF Mds. If you can't be arsed, good, it's not my loss after all. Attention to detail is key, unless you don't mind listening to music that lacks tuned-in harmony.

My experience is pomp in every 20 meters Its english soil. Best metal detector is Nokta or Quest is hamner kilker.
