Take the crossbars off the top and you can heap it up and get a lot more in a tote. I cut the sides out and use the cut out section and bars to make a ‘gate’ which allows easy access to dig the wood out.

I only use totes anymore for pre measured orders that I have a very few close friends pick up and for keeping my bundle wood in. Keeping bundle wood in one is very convenient because I can just pick it up and move it into my shop where the bundler is so Im out of the weather. They do make a wood yard nice and neat though. I think those totes will work great, if you planning to do bundles in the future. Less work for moving the wood around. 👍 Most common over here is to pack it in a net bag. (Somewhere around 1,5 cubic foot) Those sell for something around $10... Birch firewood works great! That’s the most preferd wood over here, and problaby the easiest to get. It gross like weeds! 😂 It’s been great to see you expand your business and having alot of fun! Be safe and keep on playing, boys! 👍

Dear Chris. You could remove the 2 bars on the top of your toads (won't have an effect on the stability cause you just put in the wood loose) and then you could put them in your trailer and just have to flip them with your tractor. Easiest way to empty them in my opinion. From a viewer from Germany 😉

As I sit hear and watch I cant help but wonder if you two are listening to the same thing around 8:45. The totes can be good for sure, the real game changer is the elevator/conveyor! Keep up the good work! I dont know if the totes will save you time or money but the only thing I see working for you is if a customer wants a couple of totes and has a loader at the final destination. Totes can be handy, but like you said, unloading is something to be dealt with. Unfortunately I found out even a Modified, 1/2 220gal, tote (1/2 tote, 1/2 full = 1/4 load) is more than my tiny BX 1500D can lift. Truly sad... I think the lift capacity is down with age and a bit of neglect from the previous owner, but I have to address the failed 4WD(front gears) before tackling the Hydraulics issue. Never enough time to get everything done!

@@jakebredthauer5100 Yes Jake actually lives in the town over to me and I recall the arch on his trailer. Mine is a dump truck and I can’t load 4.5 totes onto it. If you want an easy but slightly dodgy way of emptying them, chain them into the bed of your trailer, dump it allowing the crate to slide a bit, then trip it up with a plank of wood attached to the trailer bed so it tips further than the dump angle of the trailer then gets held by the chain.
