I'm an Indian from South region (Tamilnadu) and I gotta tell ya. Situation here is kinda good because of some gaming channels they started from bgmi/pubg but eventually shifted to PC and console games. But still they need to step into souls-like genre. shoutout to Tamil Gaming Brothers who stream souls-like games in their livestream and Mr Vic and Prem who explained the lore of Dark Souls in Tamil.

It's safe to say that many have joined the PCMR community by the endless efforts by a channel named "A2D Channel" who actually talks about the real tech. When I say real tech it's not the typical smartphone unboxing channel. They build PCs, open and reassemble smartphones, TVs and even build servers. They always promote to play games on PC and they even build PCs for their subscribers and also give them customer support after delivery. I hope that each state in India has their own A2D-like channel so that people will understand what's true gaming.

I remember playing Dark Souls 1 for the first time around 2015 and it blew me away unlike any other game i've ever played. Binge watching videos around people deciphering the lore was extremely fun! The game upgraded something in me that I started loving the idea of exploration in real life. Another aspect that I loved was the awesome community. I finished the game and made a SoundBoard app with NPC dialogues as my gratitude. Since then i've finished version 2 and 3 release of Dark Souls and currently playing Sekiro (trying to beat Isshin Ashina). I have not been able to enjoy Elden Ring though, which is the only exception.

My opinion on this whole streamer/ audience playing just one game is just let people enjoy what they want. Because in the end, gaming IS a Luxury in this country. Majority of population doesn't earn more than 50k a month, surely they can't afford a computer or a console just for playing games. It's awesome to see a fellow souls fan. In terms of why indian audiences don't seem to resonate with stuff beyond GTA and free fire is just the lack of focus around talking about entertainment in any way. Some folks here are legitimately saying it's about money, which is hilarious to me because money doesn't prevent someone from being aware of something, what i see is that Indian audiences are very passive about the entertainment they consume. GTA is the first game the Indian community collectively had awareness of, pubg being the second. With how passive the Indian culture is, it doesn't actively seek out different things. Look at the movies, the music and you will see the same patterns there too.

I am an avid PC gamer and like to try all genres of games but didn't give Souls-like games a try. Before Elden Ring got released, I know there are Souls games like DS1, DS2, DS3, and Sekiro. But I always felt looking at it was so difficult, and I never played on a controller in my life. (Someone told me it is the best way to experience Souls games.) But when Elden Ring got released, I can't help but notice the unfathomable hype that this game has received. Everyone (foreign KZbinrs) is hyping about this game left and right. So then I finally decided to give it a try. Then when I opened the gates and entered Limgrave, I am unable to defeat Tree Sentinel. I failed numerous times, only to realize I can skip him and come back later, lol. Then I entered Limgrave Ruins, where you will find the first map and ashes of war. I just want to kill everyone in ruins but unable to kill this one enemy with a giant shield and sword. No kidding, I died like 1000 times in this area, but I never gave up. The point of Souls-like games is you are always expected to die or fail; these games are designed like that so you always learn something and do better next time. Today I completed Elden Ring; I have 400+ hours on Steam. My favorite build: lightning dex and faith build. Now I also explore other Souls-like games like Sekiro and DS1. Sekiro is the next game I will play. (It is more difficult than Elden Ring)." Its a shame that Indians don't care about these games and only play gta and pubg despite having good gaming setups.

i have played all soulsborne games, uncharted series, far cry series, loz series, hitman, gta series, pokemon, minecraft, valo, gow series and ofc cod series, all while being an indian. I know a couple of people who have played almost all these as well. So I agree that this is a common problem with indian gamers as most of them are indulged in mobile shooters or in valo or gta but not all are a part of this majority. Hope we actually get out of mobile gaming and explore these masterpieces soon!

I literally just started playing Dark Souls: Prepare to die edition 4 days ago, after sitting in my library for many, many years. Even though my laptop can't give a stable 60 fps after optimisations and low resolution, I have found it fun throwing myself over and over again at the bosses. I am at the bell gargoyle fight and since I angered Andre, my only choice is either to persevere with skill or use summons. I have to say, this game changed my perception on how difficulty can affect a game. I once had a silver knight chase after me and die when I fell off a cliff. It was satisfying because I was trying over and over again. I cheesed the taurus demon by using firebombs. It's such a fresh experience for me. I was never into RPGs or fantasy games, but since I started playing this, I haven't played anything else. Unfortunately, due to my potato laptop, I might not be able to play dark souls 3 and above. I will try to beat 1 and 2. Then when I get a better pc, I will play all the other soulsborne games before anything else. Great video. You earned a sub. Keep up the good work 👍

Just like you said in the video , jab tak koi bada KZbinr actually nahi khelega it can't be popularized. But I feel this was the case with counter strike aswell back in the day and I mean today many people play it but the people who play it have previously played 1.6 and majority of cs players in India are from a very specific age group. Similarly the majority of people who are into pubg , gta V are mostly teenagers who form the majority of our community but I feel like access to these games would be an issue too because they're kinda pricey for the Indian market.. these masterpieces are just waiting to be explored in India and if somehow by some miracle Indians start playing soulslike games , probably after just a few months we'll start getting Indian speedrunners 💀

Just completed sekiro btw software(Game Studio) allows to make ur game more harder in sekiro by ringing the demon bell l, Firstly I had many issues with the game difficulty but if u master the game mechanics its easy a lot of stuff is there in souls game to exploit such as s the story is very intensive and the ost just cooks ur mind . The fact that soul games dopamine rush only comes after the defeating the shitty boss that spams moveset.If anyone wants to play souls game go ahead👾. Lore is also very impressive

Thank you very much for making this video, so satisfying to hear, as an Indian gamer having only 31 subs on my channel, I do really like soulslike games and I play mostly Soulslike games on my channel, I don't stream but I do make gameplay videos on Sekiro, Rise of the Ronin and I'll be playing Elden Ring and other soulslike games too. Some of my friends also constantly nagging me to play GTA, Pubg, Free Fire and all those things, I told them hell no, I'm not implying that certain games are superior or anything, it's just that I don't want to play them because these aren't my kind of games at all I would rather have no gaming channel at all than playing those games. Having a preference is a different thing but denying soulslike games and forcing others to play those GTA, free fire etc. stuff is something that I really dislike and it really annoys me. I agree with every word that you said in the video, my first soulslike game was Sekiro around 10 months ago and I haven't stopped playing it ever since and not planning to stop either.

Loved the video bro I can say it proudly that I am an Indian gamer who has completed every souls game except bloodborne(no playstation sadly) and I discovered them by my own curiosity and those game become one of my favourite games(my first souls game was dark souls 3) and each and every point you said in this video is 100% correct souls games are a gem which Indian audience sees as damp coal blocks

my dude I just got into PC gaming this year 2024 , I started with GTA 4 , then to GTA 5 , then Mafia, Cyberpunk 2077 , Lethal Company , Read Dead redemption 2 , And Now I am just waiting for the next steam sale to Buy Elden Ring and let me tell you, PC gaming revitalize Gaming for me I Had never had this much fun in gaming for years It almost brought out the careless free teenager in me , So I am really glad to see how there are more and more people getting into Pc gaming and more and more people are discovering good games out there

I've seen multiple videos talking about the beauty of Souls games and giving them a shot, but never seen an Indian person make a video on that. Being Indian myself it was reallly surprising to see this on my recommended I instantly clicked lol Great video tho you really captured what these games are all about, I've played all of their recent games except Demon's Souls and Bloodborne because I play games on a laptop and man. Amazing games overall. Also going off topic a bit but Lies of P, despite not being by FromSoft, imo does JUST as well, they cracked it somehow and it's one of my favourite games of all time now.

I personally know a big youtuber nearly 2 Mil subs , 5-6 saal phle he used to play every game on stream and videos bhi daalta tha but growth nahi ho rahi thi to he started playing minecraft and gta to he exploded and jub he was on 400k he started sometimes playing Souls games on stream uski audience literally gaali deti thi so he started playing gta and minecraft again onstream. Souls game ya other games wo offline khelta and he is just faking on stream to be excited about gta and minecraft he is not genuinely happy. Its just sad to see people come on stream and bully their "FAVORITE STREAMER" to that certain extent ki wo khud khush nahi rah sakta game khelte hue

Glad someone talk about this. This is exactly my thoughts, I've seen many streamers and its very different from western audience. The moment an Indian streamer plays anything besides gta, free fire, pubg, codm. His audience goes instant boredom and became less and lesser views and constantly requesting to play gta, pubg...I always thought about this why can't they just enjoy the games they wanted to play.

I just completed Darks souls and now i have fell in love with these soulslike games currently playing cuphead (brutaly difficult) , i think the main reason is that gaming accessories are really expensive in india and companies dont have much interest in india due to no market , The only way to solve this is that really big gaming channels have to frequently play these games ( which currently thay dont have balll to do so ) (I KNOW BBS IS GOAT) in this way large audience will get know about how fun these games are and i know its a slow process but in 4-5 years i bet gaming accessories will become cheap. The new generation gonna for sure play these games in few years.

Yea. You can start from DS1 --> DS3 . And then you can play other games out of order like Sekiro and Elden Ring. I skipped DS2 coz it requires alag hi level ka mental preparation

Ornstein and Smough are kinda easy on strength build without summons, you just have to space them out when ornstein does that dash attack and take out him first. But defeating smough first is a nightmare

Most faith builds use lightning so killing orenstein was fucking tough as he resists lightning damage lol.....had to defeat smough first and then do super orenstein with a semi strength claymore
