Thank you for the informative and easy to follow video. I'm a disabled female who lives alone, and I just put 2 tear to size blinds up by myself in about 10 mins. The wall brackets were already hung from the previous blinds, so all I had to do was measure, tear off what wasn't needed, readjust the rod, and hang them up. I had no idea when I bought them how to adjust them, but your video helped a lot.

Awww..you are so cute and young! Back in the 60’s thru the early 90’s - there was a National brand of this style of shade that could be found in better “home-style” stores….only dif was the core piece was partially metal…and after you tore off the unwanted portion of the shade, you could just push the metal part into the cardboard tube to size the finished shade to fit your window. They were lifesavers back in the day when apt. windows could literally be any random size and none of the windows matched! While I love all the snazzy ( and $$$$) window cover options now available…..sometimes ya just need an old fashioned roller shade to fit the bill!

This is fantastic news ! I'm a Landlord and I'm so sick of mini blinds along with all my Tenants . Not to mention the fact that the price of mini blinds have just about doubled over the last couple of years . I hope an American company can start making roller shades at an affordable price .

Not to mention that mini blinds crack, break, and basically fall apart with any amount of sun damage and pet curiosity. They are a waste of time and money, plus they aren't all that privacy friendly either.

I rent an apartment I’ve had temporary shades for years you know the paper stick on kind and after ten years I’m tired of the paper shades because they are faded so I’m thinking of using blinds but because I’m a renter I don’t want to damage the windows by nailing or drilling so I’m gonna go with old fashioned roller shades a friend told me they have mounts that stick on and require no drilling so I’m going to look into that I’m a good tenant because my landlord is good to me I help with things around and outside of the apartment I shovel in winter I pick up leaves to save him the hassle of hiring someone to do it if I have a pluming issue that’s minor and know how to fix it I’ll do it I’m the only one of his tenants that doesn’t give him a problem

Roll the shade up by hand then place it in the bracket again. Pull the shade down, then take it out of the bracket and roll it up again. This time, when you pull it down, you should feel tension in the spring and then it will probably start working properly. If not, try rolling it up by hand again and repeat the process. If the spring doesn't get tension at this point, it's broken and can not be repaired.

If you place it in fertile soil and give it water and plenty of sunshine....just kidding, of course! You can't make it wider, but if you just need an inch or less, you may be able to move the brackets closer together.

I just bought some as well earlier today and am hoping this is how you size them. The first time I ever tried about 10yrs ago it had no packaging anymore and I rolled the whole shade out and tried to trim the entire length and it was so uneven haha! This looks sooo much easier 🤞🏻

No. After you remove the material, the metal tube pushes inside itself like a telescope.

YES! You can NOT cut the side with the spring! The side with the spring has a flat metal pin in the end. The other side has a smaller round pin. You cut the side with the smaller round pin. Whew!!! I hope I got back to you in time!!!

@donnatrimm2885 We are not crazy. He cut the vinyl and he cut the slack which goes in the bottom sleeve. But he never cut the metal tubing. That’s why when he said in the beginning that it can be cut with ordinary scissors I thought “ I got to see this”.
