In Italy, cases of a real gender pay gap, in the sense of discrimination for equal work or work of equal value, are very rare. It is more accurate to speak of a gender earning gap, meaning that women are more likely to accept unstable or part-time contracts or to work in lower-paying jobs.

@reineh3477 It's cute that you think every working man in existence works only 8-hour days? Some work longer than that. My older brother is a nurse and he worked hours ranging from 8-12 hrs. You're adorable if you think all men do every day is sit around in an office all day. What makes you think SAHMs spend 24 hrs a day in the kitchen? Cleaning the house doesn't take 24 hours. Grocery shopping, 30min, 1 hr max. Vacuum, mop, takes takes 2 hours, depending on the size of the house or apartment. Cooking dinner, 2.5 hours (if you also factor in preparation), assuming it's not a TV dinner or choosing to order takeout. In total, minus the kids, 5.5 hours. With the kids, 8 hours, 7 if you can get the kids down for their afternoon nap. The only time that becomes 24 hrs is when you have a newborn or your baby is under a year old. And those hours are not consecutive there's also time to watch TV if she plans her day properly. And in our house, Everyone does the dishes. I clean the house, including the bathroom. Do husbands have the luxury of opting out of providing for and protecting their wives and children just because he's tired? No. And what's more, women don't even want a man with a "nurturing instinct", or they wouldn't keep rewarding the bad boys and giving good men last pick.
@asamicat83234 ай бұрын
@@Hammerhead137 your brother already do a nurturing job 😅, I bet there is no problem if the wife need his help. You are just trying so hard counting hours and justify every single detail to not help a needed wife, why? Not considering the particularity of a working mom, even worse.

I consider it very normal for a man not to find it normal that his partner does not want children, especially if he is a man who wants to start a family. In my opinion they do not have a good picture of the situation and they speak by hearsay, both women and men this. For me it is not a cultural factor (i'm talking about my country Italy), women are not advantaged in salaries but they certainly are in the nice work, the physical and grueling ones are done almost exclusively by men, in a company women are pushed to sit behind a desk, even with different hours. So the role of women is respected, what does not work is that the State does not give women the right opportunities to have a career even as a mother, so you should not limit yourself and say I do not want children to have a career, that way you are not respecting yourself as a woman, you should ask the State, I want to have a career and not have to give up being a mother! I think much of the problem is generated by capitalism which reigns today, the unbridled competition that tends to penalize the weakest in society, children and woman. The State must come back strong and reverse this trend.

I am Italian, initially I paid together with her as soon as I met her, but when the story started to become more serious I almost always paid, I feel uncomfortable not doing it, it's a protective instinct I think (but IF there is love, money doesn't interest you anymore, so you do it with pleasure). It depends on the relationship, a long time ago the man always paid, but a long time ago society was different, there were many more taboos, which today have all been abolished (maybe today there is the opposite problem)... by abolishing them they also killed a bit of romance and consequently today it happens that in a relationship you can also pay together. For me the Italian man has not different, however, he is flexible and regulates himself with the changes in society, but his mentality has not changed in my opinion. - About the story of women's work being hindered by culture is propaganda that is passed around in the media but I consider it false. If you evaluate the physical work that women do and that men do, there is a huge difference, so there is equality and respect …so saying that women are paid less due to a cultural factor is a simplification that does not do justice to the truth. Women are certainly penalized because they are mothers and have children, this is true, the company therefore feels safer with a man, also because they can mistreat him more🤣... Italians underestimate themselves, in my opinion they respect the role of women and are ahead of many countries, they just need to improve society and not make motherhood a burden to women.

Most men still like to provide otherever women need to contribute and we don’t like if we see we are been taking advantage of so I would say most try doing 50/50 or the one that earns pays more. It goes beyond all that "men must be more independent perspective". They want men to take care of them, but they don't want competition. It's a matter of generation. I think older men will show a more traditional behavior pampering women and fully taking care of bills 100%, they expect to maintain a certain role with the man providing for the financial aspect and the woman providing for what is considered "a woman's task", like taking care of the household and so on. Younger generations are trying to change this kind of mentality and take equality into serious consideration, everything must be done splitting the duties, the bills, etc. As an Italian woman, I prefer the second kind of situation. We both work and we both earn a salary, so our time and money will be split 50/50, we are able to pay equally and we are able to do what's necessary in the household helping each other in all the daily tasks. We're not in the 1950s anymore, when the majority of women were not working and they were "forced" to maintain a traditional role of stay at home wife and mother, while the man was the only one working and paying for everything. Luckily we have evolved and the wind of change is also affecting the younger generations, from the millennials onwards...

Old generations will still insist to pay for a woman and will open the door and will protect her, will bring her home etc. But new generations probably will not do it always, which is a shame

The serbian guy is so wrong about so many things. He's just parroting the stodgy old rules, the repressive traditions, the stifling rituals he's been raised in. I always say: just because something is old or been done for a long time doesn't mean it is right.
@MichelaRossini6 ай бұрын
It doesn't mean that it's wrong either.
@Limpi436 ай бұрын
@@MichelaRossini You don't understand it what I wrote. OK, let's try again with more details. Those things that guy were talking are wrong, but not because it's an old habit, it is wrong because it is not right. Then why is he doing those? The only reason he's doing those things is because he's been trained to do it ("If you don't pay for the women you're not a real man!" or "Men don't do household chores." or "Taking care of the children is the wife's job.") and not because it is good. And since that's the only reason he's doing those things, that's why I wrote my last sentence. You sentence would be correct if I had written something like "Get rid of all old habits and traditions because all old habits and traditions are wrong." I'm NOT saying this. Some traditions are good, some are not so good, some are downright bad. Everything he said is either bad/wrong or incorrect or both. And I repeat: I'm NOT saying it's old, hence bad. It's wrong, hence bad. Is it clear now?

Being a man is wrong? Yes for the modern world that makes men and women live disconmected from their instincts, and aim for equality(we are not equal) and feminism a movement that is anti-life
