I'm getting back into bowling after 5 years of not bowling and your videos have helped a lot. Thank you!

You did a brief promo recently for the CB Gripper. I got a couple of them, and they are outstanding! I don't have any idea how they work, but I didn't even realize that I had issues with grip consistency. Now I don't throw a shot without using my CB Gripper! No residue, good for throwing at unruly teammates; what's not to like? I highly recommend this excellent product.

That 3 inch pin looks perfect for the fresh Cheetah. The 4.5 might be good once the front of the pattern breaks down.

Pin to PAP dictates flare :) On a ball with a symmetric core, a pin to PAP distance between 3 and 4 inches gives you the most flare potential, with 3 3/8” pin to PAP giving the maximum flare. I just laid out my NU Blue with a 4x30 layout and it’s absolutely perfect on shorter patterns!

Do you have any recommendations on learning about differences in ball drilling (layout, core, pin to pap standards, wtc

Another great video sir. That pattern looked extremely difficult!
@edcnoyb3782 Жыл бұрын
I have bowled on that pattern. How difficult it is or is not depends on your bowling style. It is short so you have to be able to control the back end. So matching up the right ball to that pattern based on your style is important. That pattern is however very playable once you have seen a few sport patterns. You do however need a good understanding of the equipment in your bag, and how each ball works with your bowling style. If you don't that pattern will seem even more difficult. It is more playable then you would think at first glance though. Assuming for a minute you can control the back end. Yes spare shooting is challenging. The more direct you can shoot your spares the better.
@ObjectiveEthics Жыл бұрын
@@edcnoyb3782 I have only been bowling for about a year so I'm not good enough to try any tournaments yet. For one thing, I always hook at every spare accept the far right 10, 6 and 9 pins. I am hoping to get my average up to 200 by next summer (currently in the 180's).

I used the NU Hammer this week on THS, keeping the speed low, and just learning what the ball would do. The THS is a lighter version and dries up quickly. It is a beast! 241 (1 split), 248, 236 (1 split) 725. Will take more learning to see if it will be used all night, but definitely a keeper for late in the set.
@stompingpeak2043 Жыл бұрын
Most people i know that use urethane or urethane like balls use them early for a game or two then finish with reactive. Since the low flaring ball will push more oil down to help with the stronger balls later on
@crystal_pepsi10 ай бұрын
I had 2 purple hammers with almost these exact layouts, and I had the same results. Going forward I'm gonna be drilling my urethane strike ball with a shorter pin
@mikebutrie5147 Жыл бұрын
Awesome video. My OCD wants the two different layouts to be on the opposing balls for aesthetic purposes due to the pins. I know it doesn’t matter, just a weirdo haha.

If your primarily bowl on house your probably don’t, but if you want your teammates complain every time you pull that ball out this is a good solution.

So I'm JUST getting back into bowling, I have a black widow 2.0 hybrid right now, and am looking for something I can throw a little straighter.. maybe on dryer lanes. Am I correct in assuming this NU would be a good choice?

It will definitely allow you to keep your angles straight. Dark web hybrid will do the same.

Thanks for the reply .. I purchased this ball.... Have you tried the 3" pin on a house shot?
@deadpolymers34165 ай бұрын
My personal opinion is that layouts not only matter, they matter way more than people give them credit for. You're never going to drill a ball stronger than it's max potential, but you can absolutely drill a ball weak to the point it does almost nothing. I have 2 Hustle Camos one drilled 4x30, and one drilled 6x45, and they are night an day different reactions. The 4" layout is early and very strong... the 6" layout barely moves on anything other than very dry lanes. I also have 2 Raw solids... 1 drilled short pin 2.25x45 and one with my standard 5x30, and again super different. The 2.25" layout rolls off my hooks a mile... and 5" layout is way cleaner with late midland roll and moderate hook. Anyone who says layouts don't matter, or are only 10% of ball motion, are full of it. If you're throwing a ball on an appropriate shot, you'll see the difference in layouts clear as day. It's only when you're throwing balls on either way too much oil, or way too little oil, that the layout differences get overshadowed. And if you're do that, and don't realize it, you're not the guy I'd be taking advice from in the first place.
@Slinginghotlead007 Жыл бұрын
You don’t normally change layouts right? If so, will you start now?
@TheHype-Bowling Жыл бұрын
There will probably be a change in my standard layout, but probably not 3 in pin, this worked well because of the nature of the pattern and the ball.

Mines are different type of T-shirt which is blend. It’s nice quality shirt. That’s why I wear them, all the feedback I’ve gotten is that it is a really nice and comfortable shirt. If you like to dry your shirts hard get the 2XL but if your mindful when you wash XL will be fine.

@Jason_P Жыл бұрын
Layouts only really matter for dynamic cores. If the core doesn't flare or do much, changing the layout is not NEARLY as important as changing surface prep. I plan on getting a second NU Blue using the same layout but with a 2000-polished finish (vs 500-grit sanded).
@TheHype-Bowling Жыл бұрын
Your thoughts, I’ve seen a huge difference in performance on sport as well house shots. From my experience. Yours may be different
@shelovet0mmy Жыл бұрын
You’re right, but only to a degree. Surface is the most impactful factor on ball motion. However, even on balls with smaller cores layout does still have a significant impact on the ball’s shape.
