Only one guy I like to talk to every night but we frens I love him but I know it will never go any where. So I just call him every few months. Because we have lives. Life is too short to wait. I just accepted we be frens.

I used to be this guys therapist and he never respected my request to not call me after 9 but he still did it anyway. Once I learned that he was a narcissist, I grew some cahunas and jumped ship.

I had a "friend" who called me every single day. would call me at work, after work on the way to the gym and right after he got out the gym . one time he called me mid workout and stayed on the phone until he went to sleep(ate dinner, showered then layed down) anyways pretty sure he was just lonely or something.

No one should be emotionally dumping on anyone. That's not a healthy way to communicate. If you're doing it to test someone it's immature. It means you're probably not at a point in your interaction with someone to share your emotional baggage. Talk to your best friend or see a therapist. Emotional dumping is not the same as sharing something you might be experiencing emotionally. Think for a moment. How would you feel if someone used an emotional dump to test you? There's a huge difference between discernment and playing games.

We experience things daily, some things bigger than others but if you wouldn’t bring it up to a friend, don’t bring it up to him either. Whatever it is, it should be genuine.

@desireegriffin8473 but how do you know if you can dump on him if you lose a loved one? There's a method to the madness. In the very least, you'll scare off the guys who are trying to dump on you. I'm more looking for a cost-benefit analysis, not an "ought to."
