I was in my mother's womb when the announcement came. In Brazil, my family is Brazilian and I was born there too. My parents had been sealed (my dad helped build the São Paulo temple). My mom told me often how she was concerned bc if I had been born a boy, I wouldn't have been able to hold the priesthood bc we have more than one drop of African blood in us. My dad had the priesthood, though and had served a mission (also interesting when you think about the fact that be couldn't have been endowed - no temple yet).

Since I joined the church in 1974 I was taught that Joseph Smith literally saw God the Father and Jesus Christ demonstrating that both HF and JC both are separate beings with bodies of flesh and bones.

On the church digital scripture videos in Come Follow Me -the digital online version -the church produced videos preface every scriptural video with the statement that these are “actual events” recorded in the BOM.

1:31:13 Fairview is in such a great position and I think they realize it. Even if the church sues them, they have the precedent of turning down the other local church's height variance request for their religiously symbolic bell tower. I think they cannot approve the temple CUP because it would be showing favoritism toward the LDS church over other local churches. One of the very last speakers at the council mentioined this denial. I really hope that it plays into the church's request being denied and not overriden by a court.

8:29 before the pandemic before I left the church my friend told me to get the new nursing garment tops because they have a crisscross design and it allows for more plunging necklines and cleavage. So that’s what I did. Maybe so many women were buying the nursing tops due to the cross cross neckline that they created that for everyone? I don’t know just thinking out loud. But you know what’s interesting… it’s that I wasn’t a nursing mom at the time I bought those tops so I felt like I was sinning, sneaky, and I felt guilty for wearing a garment top that was not my “needed“ top because I bought the top specifically so I could have more versatility in my everyday clothing, not because I had had a baby

I am not surprised. TBMs will not question their beliefs. When I was active I stopped believing in the “ idea” of JS believing in seeing God and Jesus. At 16 but never said anything until I was 72. I believe there are more questioning but they are afraid to say.

They don't literally believe anymore. They just say they do (except Lori Daybell). If they really did, they wouldn't tell people to stop talking about the church. They wouldn't miss meetings. They wouldn't call General Conference their "weekend off." They would attend the temple. They would do a good job cleaning the ward buildings. They'd give all they had to building up the church. Etc. Etc.
