Eighth grade history, teacher here. Teaching US history with Islamic principles at its core. Would love to get connected with other muslim teachers to collaborate with?

This is fascinating. How does that work exactly: US history with Islamic principles? Could you give an example please

There is no God, but God and he granted divinely bestowed unalienable rights to every human being. With those rights, we are to preserve; Religion, Life, Family, Mind, Wealth, Justice, and Liberty. Freedom does not mean one gets to do whatever their nafs tell them to do, it means returning to our original fitrah which would put one upon the Quran and Sunnah. America's oldest and most trusted Ally is Morocco. The American justice system closely resembles Sharia for a reason. Judges closely resemble Qadi and wear black robes as a symbolic gesture to the Islamic jurispridence. Muslims were in the Americas prior to Christopher Columbus' arrival, and they had established peace and trade with the indigenous Americans. Bro, don't wait. Just build it and they will come. But remember, American History started centuries before America was founded. A good place to start would be the signing of the Magna Carta. Move forward and include the history of libertarianism with the Levelers and John Locke, free market economics with the Scottish economist Adam Smith, the development of modern banking with the Dutch East India Company, and the fight for religious freedom. Start with a blog and keep writing on specific topics and watershed moments and issues. After some time you'll have enough for a book.

May Allah reward Dr. Tahir Wyatt and Imam Tom and I am very pleased to say that before I moved from Utica in 2017, I was a part of the Utica Masjid community for 20 years.

MashaAllah what a powerful and inspiring conversation. Two great minds of our Ummah. 23:16 Dr Wyatt is absolutely right. We need to know our history in this country. Identity begins when you know who you are. Alhamdulilah, by visiting masajid, with the grace of Allah, I have been able to meet so many amazing brothers and sisters who have shared the history of Muslims in America. It really makes you proud to be a Muslim American. May Allah open the secrets of our history in the United States and make us successful and thriving in the times to come, InshaAllah. 🤲🏽

@truthspeaker884110 ай бұрын
You imagine some western Imam will fill a strategic hole. What you fail to realize is those who can stomach living and producing for the disbelievers have a disease of the heart built in. They will never lead to transformative change while they ignore the sunnah to avoid living in between disbelievers.

When taking about Muslim economics, the role of each of us as consumers cannot be underestimated. Not everyone can be an entrepreneur, startup founder or investor, but each of us is necessarily a consumer. “Buycotting”, which is making every effort to support Muslim businesses is the bread and butter of building robust financial power. For example, even if I have to buy an American car, I’ll buy it from a Muslim dealer. This creates the demand pool for Muslim entrepreneurs and innovators to intensify their efforts. Then, we should establish and strengthen Muslim financial institutions such as banks, asset managers, holding companies, lobby groups, etc. This is playing the game within the consumer-capitalist framework. At the same time, strengthening institutions of Zakat and Waqf will allow us to transcend, improve and ultimately replace the parasitic and cancerous consumer-capitalist system that is killing our societies.

Being a seat at the table was mentioned, so many times I've heard that Muslims can't participate in politics. We definitely need a seat at the table, laws are being passed and we don't have a voice. Someone like the Imam should run. Philly, Newark etc have a large Muslims population could definitely change things. Example in Michigan there's a city majority Muslim government. What I've seen is the immigrants feel more comfortable and understanding of that need . IMO.

There needs to be a global trademark by which Muslims can identify. Muslim owned, Muslim ran businesses that spend in the way of law. You said right at the beginning, “where do we go from here”. I think you’re referencing Martin Luther King Jr. speech on this Martin Luther King Junior weekend. But the strategies that Martin had for Justice delivered by the people for the people, that is the economic vehicle that upsets the capitalist order. If you get the trademark, it mobilizes not the millions, but the billions.

we cannot rely on capitalism to bring us security when at any given moment it can be taken away by the powers that be! We must fight against this system and establish something unique to the American context but that is influenced what the Soviets, Yugoslavs, Chinese, Cubans, Koreans, Vietnamese, and Libya have done for their people!

(32:27) Have they not seen that We drive water to the parched land, thereby bringing forth crops which they and their cattle eat? Are they unable to see?40 40. Keeping the context in view it becomes obvious that this thing has not been mentioned here for the sake of providing an argument for the life-after-death, as generally found in the Quran, but in this context its object is different. This, in fact, contains a subtle allusion to this effect: “Just as a person seeing a barren land cannot imagine that it will ever bloom and swell with vegetation, but a single shower of the rain sent by God changes its color altogether, so is the case with the message of Islam at this juncture. People think that it is not going to gain ground, but a single manifestation of Allah's power and grace will cause it to gain such glory that people will be amazed at its progress.”

For starters us in America: My child needs to Doctors and Engineers only thinking needs to go. Those are employable jobs not a businesses that can grow and be finically powerful and influential. Take the Jewish community in America for example. The Jewish here work in all industries of business you can think of without feeling a shame that they are not doctors or engineers they don't think about job status. Secondly, I believe the sheikh is talking about making a share holdings company a type where basically one successful main/parent company starts buy many other profitable businesses (doesn't matter the industry). The main company basically buys sells and improves the businesses they own and they also get investors (which would be mostly the Muslim community) involved and the main company grows bigger and bigger. Many banks in America share holdings companies But to reach that high level American Muslims need to stop being employees and go business. Btw a lot of the Jewish just teach their children their field of business which is another powerful thing we really don't do. Lastly as Imam Tom said getting Muslim Americans into political positions in his other videos.
