Nice one, I’m running 32’s with a 3inch Fox lift on my 2022 MUX, I’ve heard Dobinsons can be pretty stiff

How you find the 6spped auto with the 33” tyres? Do you find the gearbox getting a bit busy or even losing the sixth gear?

Tune has resolved much of the gear hunting - and is way better at 100kph to drop into 6th - don’t get me wrong it still does it - it’s not a Dmax issue it’s the Aisin Gbox that is inherent with its character - late model prados have the same issue

Hey mate how do you find the Ironman UCA do they hit the bump stops when you have down travel?? I’m having this problem with my black hawk UCA? What’s your thoughts? Cheers legend

Hey mate. Ross and myself were discussing this the other day. Ok ✅ il probably do a video on it. Combinations with a Ironman UCA and a PSR diffdrop will get you the most travel and also clearance for scrubbing. For some reason Blackhawks and Munji diff drops don’t get the same clearance and some ppl report bump hitting and scrubbing on lock into the body mount, which I have neither issues.

I’ve heard stories of that nature - I was supposed to receive it February 22 but it came December- just extremely lucky - of what I know I was first order at that dealer of a 22 model.

What size tyre do you think ill get away with 3 inch lift without cutting or modifying guards etc, brand new dmax so trying not to cut or damage anything

All depends on your shop alignment and the diff drop and UCA combo. PSR diff drop gives the best along with alignment with s +0 offset wheel and if you want to guarantee no cutting or scrubbing you would max it at 285. I cut the front bumper and took the front splash guards off - it doesn’t look bad or modified to the untrained eye. If you want my honest advice - - just send it bro

What’s your fuel economy now with lift and tyres?

Lift is not as big of a factor as the tyres. Certainly gone down and more than I thought. Before lift and tyres averaged around 700kms per tank stock, now lucky to even break 600km around 570-590km on my last 3 tanks

They do the job of assisting improve the toe in and positive camber you get when you lift ifs suspension. These are particularly bad and this is still not perfect with it in but it’s definitely necessary if your lifting more than 2”

@@dolguldur4706 it’s an improvement with these in, they aren’t bad. It would be impossible to get correct alignment of the suspension without installing aftermarket UCA’s because when you increase the height of the suspension it shortens the length of the lower control arm angle which drags the tyres inward to each other and makes the upper uca lean outward creating positive camber - both of which are undesired. Adding an aftermarket UCA brings the position of the Upper UCA back to a more neutral position and also assists the lower UCA in lenthening it’s position slightly. This then allows for added adjustment when running a wheel alignment. It’s as good as it will get as it is now but it’s still not perfectly dialled if that makes sense

@@aedanleslie1100 Dobinson MRR - kits aren’t “actively available” at the 3.5 height they only advertise 2” Have to get the front struts custom made for it - get in touch with Malaga suspension - they design and engineer a lot of stuff for Dobinson here in Australia
