I just walked out of the dealership and because I watched your videos I was ready for the price of the car ready for the trade-in value ready with a pre-approval letter and ready with fees. After the dealership realized what hit them I don't think they were very happy thanks to you guys

It's true. Last year I got 6k off for my 24 SE camry last year otd and it had upgrades 3 days before the year ended. Call/email every dealer of that brand around your area and try to get as many out the door price u can and use them to leverage against them all and see who's willing to earn your business. If they don't want to give u numbers then go elsewhere, because that proves they aren't willing to work with you initally means they don't need deserve that opportunity to do business with you. I'd had to get my vehicle at one of the more further dealership from my house but it was well worth driving an extra 20 mins to get thousands off of a vehicle.

When I asked for a OTD written quote, magically the price of the car had gone up $5,000…after many calls from the sales rep trying to close the deal, he stopped calling when I asked about the price increase. Tricky!
@wangvictoria22104 сағат бұрын
Go to other dealers, and also consider dealers from nearby states(around the border or popular states big dealers might be willing to ship to your location), and then you can take the quote and ask to your local dealer beat.

I bought a car last week. With some how-to knowledge from you guys it was more painless than previous tries. I did dodge some dealer add-ons, but this dealership didn't have the crazy ones from our previous purchase. I talked them down a little (I think it was fair given the availability of these trim features in my area). Thank you.

I recently bought a car from a dealership in Alabama, and during the process, I was told that a charge labeled as a ‘doc fee’ covered administrative or freight costs. However, after I took the car home, they sent me an electronic document to finalize the paperwork, and the fee was relabeled as ‘dealer-added accessories.’ This was never disclosed during the sale, and I would not have agreed to pay for optional dealer add-ons

Was able to get $4000 off the MSRP of a 25 Forester and then negotiated an additional $2k for our trade in after they attempted to low ball me with the initial offer. It’s key to get dealerships to compete with each other, as they somehow magically change their tune once you let them know they aren’t the only game in town. . For the record, this was for a lease. Was a pretty successful weekend!

They always drop, used or new, you just have to show them similar cars and let them know they might lose the sale. Also it helps to guarantee them certain things, such as if they lower to x price you will get deal done today.

REMEMBER!!!! negotiating at a dealership that posted a low price then raised the price with add-ons and fees and lowball trade offers and higher rates will never be as good as or low as the dealership they were trying to keep you away from when they posted the low fake price online that got you to visit them first.

Wouldn't it be nice for an anonymous list of just how close a regions dealerships are to earning the dealer/manufacturer cash prize for sales. Imagine the price cut you could negotiate!

OK. This is a car buying question but also a moral one, so I think you'll find it mildly interesting. BACKGROUND: I had a 2016 RDX that I brought in for service at the dealership. Twenty minutes after I left the car while I was on the highway it started smoking and then when I looked out the side window, I saw flames coming out the back. Once I stopped the flames started coming up my door and smoke was coming through the vents. Got out fast, losing my phone, laptop, etc. but I think I'm worth it 😀. Anyway, I contacted my insurance and put in a claim. Most importantly, I did not mention the service I had. A true case of "sin of omission, I guess. I thought that the process would be faster and no one at the dealership would get in trouble. So, the claim starts going through and the day they were going to cut the check, my agent calls and says, "One last question, did you have your car serviced lately?" I am not a liar, so I told her the story. Now finally to the car buying question: I am looking for a new SUV and was considering another Acura - hopefully one that doesn't burn. If I went to the dealer, should I mention what happened (BTW it was late 2020). Considering I could have posted the burned-out car on social media and where it just got serviced - which I would NEVER do - do you think they kind of owe me? And of course, if they don't believe me, I have the police records, and they have their own records saying time of service. So, if it is OK to bring it up what would be a good discount from MSRP? A broad question, I know.

I had a Subaru dealer tell me that the $399 "ceramic coating" was pre-applled and not negotiable. Well, I'm a chemist and KNOW that the ceramic content runs the gamut in products. I would have tested an inocuous area of paint if I'd had test materials with me! Likely, it was a $20 bottle of "cerma plate" applied by a kid in 2 hours or less. Paint prep? Doubtful. I did some research and it's a 1 year warranty sealant, NOT a true ceramic application. Way to go in alienating a ready to buy customer even further by wanting a $500 deposit for an overnight test drive. I wrote the sales guy my reasons for declining to do business with him / the dealership. No real reaction until the next day! Posted all facts on Yelp! I was contacted and asked to remove it. I laughed out loud. "Lie to me, treat me like I'm stupid and be ridiculous and difficult about an overnight test drive and you get what you deserve. Cease contact, stop lying and DO BETTER!" was my response. I hung up the phone. I take NO BS, period. (F / 60s)

How i screwed up on recent purchase. i did my homework on the trade value, BUT BUT i did not do it on the new car. wasnt sure what model was going to get. Like you say Ray i should have walked and deal would have gotten better,' BUT BUT I wanted a certain motor, and a certain interior color and feature. They had one. now i did know dealer 2 to 5 hours away had some that might have worked. BUT BUT would have run into the same pricing hard ball at the others. Was the gamble of driving, and finding close to what wanted worth it. Was going to be cash no financing what have found the reg non AMG motor would been just fine, AMG cool BUT BUT finding could have done with less horsepower

How far away can you price shop with? Is a competing dealer several hours away worth trying to 'beat this price'? Are dealerships willing to ship vehicles?

How do you find out if a car dealer ship is a 'priced to sell' type of place or somewhere you can haggle with? I've been in the market and having conversations with dealers in my area and none of them will drop any fee, price, etc for anything besides a tinyamount for the vehicle being on lot for 30+, 60+, 90+ days

Hello, I have a question, I leased a car from Nissan and have equity in the car. The lease is up and I want to trade it for another brand of car. They are telling me I cannot do that, that I need to trade it with Nissan. Do you have any advice about that? I love your channel.
@andrewburt483820 сағат бұрын
No equity as you don't own it. Your lease agreement outlines what happens at the end of your term. When supply was a problem competing dealers would offer to buy out your lease and share some of the gains that they would make on the used sale (that would feel like you had some equity); however, supply situation has changed for most models.

@edwardkrochmal82682 күн бұрын
Rent the vehicle for at least 3 days, and put on miles. To make sure this is the vehicle you want. Plan on a full day at the dealership, because the Sales Manager will give in. One experience I had was buying Wendy's food before going to a dealership. I was eating in front of the salesperson. I realized that the whole sales floor smelled of Wendy's. It showed I was there for time, and pissed off all sales sellers from the smell. Every thousand you save means lower monthly payments.
