Hi Maik! Thank you for your words… I became in a way almost compelled to go for a7iv after reading through all the reviews and hands ons and comparisons … my first choice was a7iii and that is how I came around your a7iii video. I was away from photo/video space for some time due to my career build up in IT. Now funny enough I am on the path of switching a career to something I left some time ago - photography/videography/live streaming. I had so many doubts about going for a7iii instead of a7iv that it just haunting me. I started checking out gear prices and lens prices and it just became obvious, it is better get used a7iii in a nice package deal and spend extra $ towards needed lenses, gear… your video helped to clarify this shit storm in my head, thank you. I will start with used a7iii,spend the budget wisely and slowly catch up with the industry standards. I need a tool not a Ferrari. Thx one more time for clearing that up , very helpful

Well, this has nothing to do with Sony A7IV, no offense I get what you mean, but when you title the video the way you did, you should just called it _"Do not buy expensive equipment | watch this first"_ instead, yeah the A7 IV is expensive, but so are every other camera in this fullframe lineup except Panasonic S5 which is the cheapest until you start adding Panny glass to it, its not so cheap anymore whereas Sony has really great cheap glass that are good quality, so you end up paying more for camera but less for glass, Canon is just a money pit and Nikon is also mostly just a photo camera. For price and gimbal use, the A7 IV makes a lot of sense, its also a really good travel camera, it shoots 10bit video, 4k60 (with a crop) its got 33mp, more than enough for any casual user or semi-professionals, its got great glass, you can have most compact full frame zoom the 28 to 60mm or have really well priced fast zooms with 2.8 aperture, or the good all around 24 to 105mm F4. With Panny boy S5 its got 20 - 60mm kit lens and also comparable 24 - 105mm but its got an autofocus that requires manual inputs, it cannot think for itself, gotta tell it what to do, A7 IV is just turn on and shoot and it gives you good results. Rambling aside, your title is confusing, equipment matters when its about videography, its 2022 and one man crew are common place, if your camera cannot do this and that, you add more work on your list, autofocus is probably a must these days I mean cameras from early 90s autofocus better than some cameras today LOL.

Im glad I have the A7IV. Plenty of resolution, Good picture profiles for video, great auto focus features, and coming from a A6400, I have good APSC glass to use on the A7IV in 4K 60p

Totally disagree with you! This's all rounds camera and the best choice for any starter or professional. The potentials it has will be placing it as one of the best cameras for years to come.

Any starter?? Lmfao to suggest any starter to buy such expensive gear is beyond careless first they will be depending on gear rather then actually learning the principals to be a good filmmaker. And many jump right into the deep end without realizing what they are getting themselves into. There are alot of of things u would rather spend on as a beginner rather then a top notch camera

Very Honest and accurate advice but I am not going to listen! Nice footage by the way.

Seems like I wasted my money ; I've colour banding in my photography and posterization image , that's very visible in long exposure.I used sonya6400 and Panasonic whit same settings but I never hqs any issues; I spoke at the sony customers care but seems they don't care about customers , they admit there is some issues but they are capable the tell me from where is the problem.I'm very disappointed.

Remember you are taking advice from a guy who made the creative choice to cover up the lens with the hand as a transition. Also: a7iv does not make anybody nerveous over here. Get over yourself.

Why u so pressed? Tf the dude was wagging his opinion on why u shouldnt obsess over gear. And just because someone is lazy with their youtube videos doesnt mean they arent a great videographer u need to get over yourself he has legit clients to do work for instead of u being pressed for no reason. To properly operate a set up that includes an a7iv will probably take over 4 5k. And that is not healthy to recommend to a casual or wanna be pro
