Yea, I’m new here and it all just seemed rushed. It appears that these (the unboxing and this one) are “teaser” videos and perhaps in his 2 hour video he mentioned, it slows down. We shouldn’t have to go view a 2 hour long video to get a calmer pace. This video felt like the camera was due back ASAP and he was trying to rush to fit it all in…or…he just ran a marathon…lol. Either way, I appreciate the videos, but since I saw your comment and agreed, I figured I’d make a reply.

Have the A7III and already pre-ordered the A7IV. I'm also in the minority when it comes to the fully articulated screen... I think I prefer the flip screen from the A7III but ultimately its not a deal breaker for me. I also don't shoot video at all, so all that stuff about the 4K something something cropped means nothing to me. Really looking forward to the much improved AF, the shutter mechanism that closes when you change lenses to protect the sensor from dust and the 33 megapixel sensor.

As a photographer hybrid you guys are nuts lol. The flippy screen on the A7IV is a masterpiece of convenience when shooting photos. You can open it half way to shoot super mega low shots on the ground without needing to laydown on the floor. Honestly thats an enourmous advantage lol. Unless you guys don't get that creative with your shots, the flipping screen should actually help you as photographers do better.

I already pre-ordered mine and will likely sell my A7III once it has arrived to offset the cost. I think there's a lot of improvement compared to the A7III and the pros outweigh the cons for me. That said the A7III is still an amazing camera for what it is and hold its own even as newer versions are released. Honestly if people are on a budget and just entering the full frame ecosystem, there's no harm in buying a used A7III for $1000-$1200.

@kamezu3 жыл бұрын
@@sedgemorrison9217 Try to adjust details around high-contrast edges, like a glow sign, and you will know the difference. In uncompressed Raw every pixel around these edges are recorded but in compressed Raw format the image is divided into 16 pixel stripes per color channel, recording only the brightest/darkest value in each stripe. So, in such a situation if you ever have to recover 5 or more stops of shadows, you can easily notice loss of data. Of course, you would need to pixel peep a bit but that is a matter of personal choice, with glasses on. Still doesn't change the fact that the burst rate is misrepresented.

This obsession with the 4K 60 crop mode is so funny. The A7iv is $1,000 less than the A7Siii yet it shoots 10-bit 422, it has focus breathing compensation - which no other camera has, and it provides a slot for a CFExpress type A card along with the choice of using two UHS II SD Cards. Plus, it''s clear that you're mainly a photographer. You say if wanted to shoot 4K 60fps that you'd go for the A7Siii. So...you'd pay the extra $1,000 so you wouldn't have to crop in 4K 60fps?? That statement alone destroys your complaint about the crop.

hello, z6ii and z lenses are amazing and i am sad leaving these for sony. cityscape, night photo, landscape,... are amazing, sharp,... portraits too with AF-C single point back button focus. But I am frustrated for sport, moving people (2 years baby, fashion,...) and video (don't see what it films so not relying in af) because AF eye is tricky. mostly using yellow box subject tracking but it requires some operations,... and you loose in responsiveness...

Thoughts on upgrading from a7iii to a7iv or a7Riii? (I was looking for a bigger sensor size since I use the APSC quite often)
@iceman101293 жыл бұрын
No one has really given a solid response on this. Like even Pierre here says immediately to get the iv but thats if you are shopping for your first full frame Sony. But looking at Manny's video, the picture quality isnt like a huge amount better, in some cases it looked identical. And I haven't seen a single comparison on this new color science that he said was a night and day difference. So as of right now it comes down to how much do I want a new options menu and a flip screen.
@medallasipod3 жыл бұрын
@@iceman10129 @ErichWilliam I understand what you're saying. But the sensor size will make a difference when using APSC mode for either the extra focal length of FF lenses or using APSC lenses on the camera. Since on the a7iii has a 24mp, when using APSC mode the image turns to something around a 10mp, which is not bad but is somewhat limiting when making extra cropping on post. Therefore a 32-33mp sensor with this crop mode on, will give me a slightly bigger (better resolution) picture to work in post if I need to do those little cropping adjustments without worrying about decreasing more the resolution. I haven't seen pricing either, so I'll wait some time to see how Manny and Pierre keep feeding us with information about the camera. Thanks for the input Erich! 🙏🏽

@@medallasipod When you take pictures, what percentage of your shots are in APS-C? I can't say for you, but for me personally it would be 0.01% or less maybe.
@medallasipod3 жыл бұрын
@@iceman10129 i don't have an exact percentage, but it's mainly when I am out of town and only take 1 or 2 lenses and need just that little extra 1.5-1.6x quick to make my 35mm prime an almost 50mm. Also, I am a wide-angle-street sucker haha that's why I carry a 17-28mm 2.8 and a 35 1.8. Sometimes I don't have the time or space to walk closer to my subjects so I click that shortcut. In part is my fault, because I don't carry my telephoto lenses around every trip due to weight or bad pre-planning, which i know would avoid this. But I would still have to change the lense and may miss the shot.

Hey Pierre, you made it sound like the A7IV is exactly like an A1 except it only takes 10fps vs A1 takes 30 (and only aliens need it); and then it only takes 4k 60p in cropped but have better low light than A1 in low iso?……Could you do a more in-depth to compare them two? I find myself fencing between these two. I’m a little worried A7IV is not fast enough for the sports I’m shooting and even tho I don’t shoot videos at the moment, I wanted to get into video without worrying that the machine would drag you behind. I’m tempted to get the overpowered A1 for future-proofing but the $4k saving seems attractive for some new gm glasses. Help Pierre!

4k crop and worse rolling shutter, worse than a7iii, some reviewers have said. checkout "gerald undone" review.

@Pierretlambert3 жыл бұрын
Bonne idée car j’ai jamais vu l’intérêt des non compressés jusqu’à présent!
