Same here, it's such a great cpu. mine's on air, and never breaks 68C. and even then, only once or twice. The actual performance difference to the 14700K is about -5 fps with a 4090, and -10fps against a 14900K, on average, which is nothing like enough to justify going to those. 14 series i7 & i9 are really intended for genuinely heavy-duty productivity, and I don't see any point in them for gaming, the extra cost, plus the need for expensive AIO cooling & extra case fans, just makes zero sense for gaming, at least to me.

@PatchyTheDogeАй бұрын
Apply a torture test for an hour and watch if the pc crashes (a degraded cpu will try to boost to 5.5 ghz and will fail, sometimes will crash the pc altogether) IF the cpu crashes, RMA the cpu. If you cannot rma the cpu, you have to OVERVOLT the cpu (not undervolt) to compensate. but try to rma the cpu , is the safest option
@khensationalReviewsАй бұрын
Don't be worried. As long as you lock your cores its perfectly fine.

I bought a 13900k in Nov 2022. I ran at 5.8p/4.5e/5.0ring since day 1. When all of the news came out about Intel stability, I decided to reach out to Intel even though I never had any issues. I asked for a refund instead of a replacement. Intel never asked for proof of instability or anything. I provided the original receipt and after a couple of back and forth emails, Intel gave me a full $599 refund! I basically got to use an i9 for almost 2yrs for free and now Intel is paying for my ArrowLake upgrade!!! I wish this happened every generation. Lol.

Is MSI load line in Z790 Tomahawk motherboard set to "Mode 9" safe? It was set on previous version of BIOS which has micro code 0x123 and the AC/DC load line was 0.4/1.1 mOhms which helps lower the voltage and I had no crashes so far on my i7 14700K. I've updated the BIOS to 0x129 which by default set CPU lite load to "Mode 16“ and AC/DC load line was set to 1.1/1.1 which increased voltage and power consumption so I keep everything the same but drop down CPU load to previous "Mode 9"(which was default on previous BIOS) it helped the CPU to lower the voltage on idle and lite load scenarios. Now 2 days ago MSI again launched 0x12B(beta) but I'll wait for your review and wait for proper release because I'm not risking on beta version. So far I've tested several UE5 games like Black myth wukong, the final and also tested cinebench R15, R23, occt and some other tests and so far I have found no errors or crashes while testing these programs and games.

Small PC business/shop owner in Guatemala here... between economy being down, Intel distrust and AMDs crappy 9000 series, sales have gone WAY down. Intel is not selling because "it's risky", and AMD 9000 is not worth it, so after a small survey, customers are deciding to hold on to their money and keep their current systems, interestingly usually being 11th/12th Gen Intel or AMD AM4 systems.

I'm really sorry to hear that, here in Italy I see that what's going the most is Ryzen 7000, 5000 series X3D chips and 14th gen Intel also is selling pretty well. I get a few frames more if I just let it cut loose but I've tried several different limiters I'm just not sure if it's optimal or not and it bothers me. I don't suggest 13th and 14th gen. 12th gen is good enough for almost any modern game. but if you really want a 14th gen, CPUs with less cores are less likely to break. still possible but just less likely. so i5's... and if the i5's break, Intel will probably have stock to replace that with. They're running out of stock for the i7's and i9's, however i5's should be plentiful.

the CPUs with fewer cores like the i5's are less likely to break and if it does break then Intel will have more stock of those to replace with The i7s and i9's of 13th and 14th gen are more likely to break and stock for those are tight. Try undervolting or using less power hungry profiles

Any step which requires the end user to navigate the BIOS in order to mitigate critical damage is a massive failure on Intels part, and is utterly unexcusable, regardless of what fanboys claim. Performance tuning is acceptable, but it being required to stop your chip from damaging itself is not. In no other consumer product would this be acceptable, or even legal. I'd love to hear the fanboys views about buying a fridge freezer and then having to faff around with the coolant and the pump otherwise your fridge will fail. Or buying a brand new car, and then having to pop the bonnet and start tinkering with the camshaft. You wouldn't expect ANYONE to tolerate this. So don't gaslight people into believing it's acceptable for Intel to act like it's reasonable when it's patently not.

Bruh working unify x for 190 is a steal. 7800mhz ez. Just make sure to limit PL to 253w to avoid degradation if your not going to use exotic cooling/direct die cooling and just a regular AIO. If you can keep the temps down to sub 80 at 300w then it is probably safe. Or just disable ht
