Good take on 5e with the meme about martial/caster differences. Sometimes people want to play a game that doesn't involve much (or any) monster hunting, and tbh other systems will do that wayyyyy better than 5e. 5e also tries to give player agency/engagement through mechanical complexity and power, but that just means the DM has to spend more time creating encounters, which gives less time for building a wider world worth engaging in.
