This reminds of people who say you shouldn't drop the slide of a pistol on an empty chamber. Its meant to handle explosive pressures, if it cant handle static pressure, there is something wrong with the design
@icetea2309
@icetea2309 2 ай бұрын
I think it's due to the extractor smacking an empty chamber instead of a brass rim. Brass is soft, steel is not. I know on a glock it will chip/break the extractor after doing it enough. Have seen it.

We leave air in SCBA tanks, which are carbon fiber, forever. They are inspected, and sometimes used - but they are immediately refilled. They are ALWAYS filled. If your HPA tank cannot handle a static load, how can you trust it any other way? I have to disagree with this one. As long as your tank is inspected and in good working order, I'd think things would be OK.

If powerhouse regs can't handle pressure being left in the tanks I guess that's another reason for me to stick with ninja. I've been doing airsmith work for 15 years now, I've seen more reg failures due to simple age over anything else. This video is just lone wolf making mountains out of mole hills. I guess they are running out of actual content

It doesn't matter either way. Springs wear from cycling, not from being compressed for any period of time.
@bobspalding2477
@bobspalding2477 8 күн бұрын
Right. This was disproven during the old “don’t leave your magazines loaded” trope. You can leave them loaded for years, yes eventually the spring will need to get replaced, or just the entire mag. But that is the case whether they’re cycled or loaded.

Interesting video! Something to consider. But what is disturbing are some of the comments. As someone who is starting a channel, I don’t expect everyone to agree with me. But making harsh comments is not helping our community.

I know I haven't been playing as long but I have never heard this since I started playing in 2000 I'm not going to argue that it probably prematurely wears the orings. But orings cost penny's so who cares if you replace them alot. When I played alot of outlaw ball I had 2 3k aluminum scuba tanks. The scuba shop that used to fill them for me told me to always store them with 1-1.5k of air in them to keep the integrity of the bottle. I haven't used them in atleast 10 years and they both still have air I was also a firefighter for a few years. Those bottle are are kept full 100% of the time, and those were alum and carbon tanks. Even extra tanks were stored with air for previous stated reasons

Ask a scuba shop to fill your Scuba tank after it's been emptied. I'd consider leaving at least some positive pressure in your tank based on what I've been told.

I dont agree with this. First off ive left air in at least one of my tanks for over 10 years and it never blew any seals. All my other tanks pretty much always have air in them. I would argue you want to always leave at least some pressure in the tank to constantly put pressure on the tank walls and new containments from getting in.

@bobspalding2477
@bobspalding2477 8 күн бұрын
Well, it doesn’t make much of a difference if you leave it filled. But it also doesn’t matter if you leave it empty/drain it. The disk didn’t burst because you drained it… Happens a lot on cheaper regs or regular use. Easy fix man.

Not saying this is right, but I Always had air in my tanks, even after 2 years of not playing I recently wanted to maintenance my marker and had about 500 psi in my ninja tank. But after 8 years I need to rebuild my reg even tho I don’t have leaks just peace of mind and overdue maintenance.

It's pretty much BS to degas your tank. Nobody in the world is degassing it's tank after a day of play. Not a single problem. Tanks/regulators are designed to hold pressure, even if you store the tank for years. Addressing something that ain't a problem.
