Had a pretty similar experience with “regal lover”. Bought an “i5” female regal. Received an adult gravid female who laid eggs within a week and laid another sack within a week of the first babies being separated. I’m not gonna lie Tiki is my favorite spider. Tiki has sparked my love for jumpers and also my desire to start a business and breed them. Ultimately it was all used for the good but I was lied to and never got a response back from RegalLover regarding this issue after sending multiple emails. Tiki is my baby but I would never do business with them again.

Same here I bought a Female Regal in "i5-6" from regal lover. My Pepper came in a delicup with no ventilation through USPS with 3 meal worms; and 2 of them were still alive when she arrived. She was in a super thick hammock but couldn't wait to get out of there. She built a hammock and didn't eat or drink for TWELVE DAYS I knew she was molting. She molted and acted normal for a while then tore her hammock down to build super thick home. She then laid a sack of eggs which she decided to spend all day eating afterwards. Then spent another 5 days completely enclosed in her hammock but not molting just chilling. She came out for the first time today and we spent a couple hours together, where she decided to eat and drink for the first time in a long time.

I just received an order from them on 8/26/22. Typical, I see your video AFTERWARDS. Shipped USPS with no indication of contents. I ordered the 5+ slings for $25. The order arrived safely, held at the post office, even though I was worried about heat (I'm in the desert southwest). The slings were all in a 5.5 ounce deli cup, with a moist towel bottom and a piece of clear bubble wrap inside, and remains of quite a few flies. The deli cup had a lot of pinholes in the lid, and packed into a lot of newspaper. I really don't know how old they are. They are pretty tiny. Bigger than melanogaster fruit flies, but smaller than or almost equal to hydei flies. I had no dead spiders at all - and surprisingly, there were 25 slings. Yep, TWENTY FIVE. Not sure what the heck I'm going to do with that many. I have them all separated into single small cups (which took forever to poke pinholes into). I also have one male I bought locally last May, and the new ones look like he did at that time. He, Chewie, is about the size of my thumbnail now, and doing well. I guess I'll just soldier on with a large colony of Regals...

I had a similar experience with them. My container did have ventilation holes but was also shipped with 3 decaying meal worms and smelled so bad I rushed to get my girl out of the container. I was also told i3-4 and she was definitely at least i5 or bigger. Also I didn't know own about the priority shipping either and was almost in a panic when she arrived on day 3. I have since found a reputable and caring breeder.

I had a very similar experience. I am very new to all this and like you I didn't realize all the things that were bad at the time. My Pumpkin was shipped USPS and arrived several days after being shipped.I received her on Aug 10th 2022. I was worried about how hot it was and was going to be during shipping. She molted right away and just ate her 1st post molt meal yesterday (September 15th, 2022). She made a thick hammock right away and molted. She turned out fine thankfully! They said she was an I4 but I know from my research that she has molted more than that because she is very big. Hope she isn't gravid! She had like 6 mealworms that were packed in the cup with her and she had eaten all of them during the trip. Don't remember seeing air holes, but I wasn't looking for them either. I just got really lucky she survived the trip and seems healthy! So who can I order from that can be trusted? You just can't trust anyone anymore. Thanks so much for the info. Sincerely, Vanessa Seipelt
@Manda314092 жыл бұрын
As long as she has molted with you, she’s not mature yet, so she won’t be gravid! 😀 they can only successfully pair with a male and have fertile eggs after they reach maturity. If she does lay eggs, they will be infertile. I highly recommend Melissa at myspiderempire.com I have a video unboxing some spiders from her and she is definitely one of my favorite breeders out there!

It’s clearly obvious that they do not keep track of their spiders Individual molts. If they did, they wouldn’t molt during shipping or they would wait to ship until the current molt is over. Of yours was packed with mealworms and molted during shipment, that is very dangerous for the spider

Similar newbie experience with a different Florida breeder. Sent my my spider in winter without a heat pack and never said anything about it. My own ignorance for not knowing that they shouldn't have been shipping in the first place to my state when it was below 30F, but also I didn't think to ask. You don't know to ask any of this. My spider was shipped in premolt. Thankfully, he survived. He molted a couple days after I got him. I am leery of purchasing any spoods now from Florida. My spider was also shipped with mealworms.

I have purchased 4 babies from RegalLover and all are happy and healthy. It’s insane to think that a breeder of spiders is anything like a breeder of typical animals, in the way that they monitor their growth. That doesn’t happen like that. Spiders are a exotic pet and are not usually accessed daily as a puppy, kitten or bunny would be. I have experienced the total opposite with RegalLover. Hope people see this comment.

Lolllllll. I got a pair sent to me a few years ago when i was new to the hobby and they got to me fine, but... The weird thing was that the female was sent in a cup with 5 very immature slings in a web. Regallover was like "huh must have been a mixup in shipping 🤷🏻♀️" so non-chalant! Anyways. 2 two big spiders lived about a year each but all the babies died within 4 days. Would not purchase again either- I also feel like they might all be wildcaught in FL so that's a whole other can of problems.

I don't mean to contradict you, really I don't cause I know you would sure know way more than I do, but I have to tell you that I was speaking with someone from there about a spider, and I have to say that whoever this individual was that I was chatting with was extremely caring and went totally out of their way to answer all of my questions and whoever this was seemed to be quite knowledgeable and talked about these little guys like they loved them. They said that they have about 100, which, I wouldn't really know, but I sincerely wouldn't think that rather than breeding them, they just go out jumping spider hunting every weekend and sell those during the week, that sounds like that would be harder to do than just breeding them. 😊🤞

Hi Manda. I didn't mean to take so long to get back to you. I do not spend much time on social media. Someone else brought you to my attention. How is Penelope that arrived healthy and your other spider that arrived from someone else but had arrived with only 6 legs? (Sounds like a "mismolt") We never mist our spiders that are kept indoors and not out in the Florida humidity. We did not try to talk you out of shipping usps but only told you why we ship that revenue. WE DO OFFER FEDEX We feel that anybody should be able to get a spider, not just those who can afford 100$ or sometimes higher shipping fees. Our weeks are spent feeding and caring for our 600 PLUS CAPTIVE BRED SPIDERS. Which is why we post regularly when we do, and always have them in stock. We did not put pin holes in our deli cups because we want our babies protected from breathing fumes during their journeys. We rarely lose a spider. But when we do, we always replace or refund. AND YES WE DO REFUND WHEN WE ARE IN ERROR. When we began, we posted by age, ie months old, not instar. I'm not sure when the word instar was added to the discription. Our intentions are never to mislead anybody. We are planning a video series in-between all the feedings. Did I mention that we raise our own wingless flies and millworms?

Im surprised so many people grab their torches. I can't even take her seriously. She's obviously spewing out inaccurate information on these spiders alone. Inaccurate information that she states as fact. And then to accuse regallover of passing off wild caught as captive bread....?!?!!! WHY would anyone do that? Jumping spiders are prolific. Any sensible and somewhat knowledgeable about the species are rolling their eyes at these ridiculous made up accusations. She should hope she dont get sued.
@Monk-eee2 жыл бұрын
USPS has a policy that states you are forbidden to do something but you feel like you don't need to abide by their rules and so you do it anyways.... That's the Post office your lying to, why should anyone else trust a word you say!?!? STFU the spiders you sell are less sneaky than you are. Other companies survive on selling their spiders the right way but you want ALLL the profit.... Not poking air holes has nothing to do with fumes because animals are shipped with holes correct, snakes have holes correct. Otherwise what - they would die with no air. Give me a break talking about fumes and calling them your babies....
