look at a game like dragon ball legends most new character are pretty good regardless of their canon power so you can use some wacky and funny characters . now look at sparking zero where you cant have fun because all power levels have to be lore accurate such a waste of time making characters .they are created to be bad so others are forced to be used 24/7

You obviously haven't played the game much at all if you seriously believe that the character stats are as important as you said. Obviously, a character like SSJ4 Gogeta (10 DP) is going to be "better" than someone like Recoome (3 DP). However, the overwhelming majority of people are losing because of a skill gap and not a stat gap. I consistently bully tons of the DP 7+ characters all the time because I play mostly DP team battles and then do singles occasionally just to get quick matches in. From my experience, the people choosing the characters with the overall best stats and high DP are not very good at the game and have been using their OP characters as a crutch. Those types are a lot of fun to knock down a peg if they dont rage quit when they immediately get caught in a combo from the get go.
