Very interesting video. I am a collegiate track runner and a lot of my buddies take painkillers to run through shin splints and other injuries. I had thought to myself that surely taking ibuprofen and acetaminophen surely would reduce your bodies ability to recover and build muscle. Sure enough months later I stumble across your video and my theory was right. Very interesting and great video. Right up my alley because I am pursuing a degree in kinesiology. Keep making these in depth videos. I am loving them.

See how intuition many times is also proven by science. That’s one of the most important skills for someone in our field. Keep it up with your studies! I’ll appreciate it if you keep writing comments here in this channel and give us your critical thoughts and the new things you learn from your degree 💪

Very nice GFX work and very informative. It's only a matter of time before people take notice of these great videos. Thanks Yiannis

minor critique, the rewind sfx at 0:56 was just a tad loud for the ears. other than that the audio all sounds great. especially love the way you enunciate each word to make it easier to follow along with what youre saying.

😮 This is shocking and VERY helpful. I had no idea! As always, very well presented and of course, I have to stop taking ibuprofen after this.

Thank you Adam! This series of episodes will be shocking In general. There are many things that take us back, that we don't realize. Tell me what you'll think about the next one too!

In general I rarely experience pain and accept a degree of soreness after exercise due to damage. As am extremely affraid of introducing anything external to my body (through food, medicine and over the counter remedies), I'm typically not going to take anything for it, but a good stretching before finishing the session, applying heat, wrapping up, sauna and massage technidues, plus a good rest and sleep all would help recovery, reducing and cooping with the problem.

Exactly there are many active and passive recovery techniques we can use to reduce pain and speed up recovery. No need for painkillers.

I just use it to get rid of headaches.

@@mcmerry2846 I've had headache once or twice in my life, so know how debilitating they can be. I would look at underlying health and lifestyle: do you hydrate enough, do get enough sleep, how can you remve or reduce sources of stress. Can you cutdown on smartphone use and social media? You may find one or a few make a big difference. Best woshes

YES! Yes, I believe MOST things you take beside some amino acids and other dietary supplement (like vitamins, magnesium,...) have a VERY negative impact on your body or the impact on a healthy system is unknown (usually medicine ist tested on SICK people not healthy ones). This only shows why you should take artificially created medicine only if your health is beyond the point of self regeneration. And great to see a video again. I know it would pay off staying subscribed :D

This is a question I had when watching this video. I have fibromyalgia and wondered what your thoughts on opiods and other pain medications might affect your gains. I was curious because I hardly find any videos on this topic when it comes to fitness.

of course, swelling is what causes the muscle to heal and grow after exercise, and if you stop that physiological response, you're stopping the muscular gains. PS: can you do a video about joint mobility as hip or shoulders and how it is trained? I have a couple of doubts, and I would like some more information. thanks.
@YiannisChristoulas2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment, it adds to the information of this video. Regarding your hips and shoulders, although I might post more things on flexibility, I have already a full flexibility and mobility guide on teachable with anyone someone could ask about this topic. In addition, I’m going to do a big update in the following months that will add a lot value to content of the guide. I hope this helps.

I want to ask you something about streching, I got understand from your videos that we should strech only like 9 min total per week per muscle, right? But, if I choose those exercise you said, wouldn't I finish doing more time? Example: for front splits, doing 3 exercise, one for hamstrings, one for quads, and then the full split it self, that it's working the previous two again, or not? And also, if after that I decide to go also for pike, pancake, middle splits, will not I be doing again some muscles? In case you could answer, thank you very much! Salutations from Argentina (sorry for my poor english)
