In 50 years we are all going to get interviewed about our time living during COVID-19 and what we felt and experienced during this. Some will say they lost their jobs, others will say they reconnected with family, others will find reasons that it was socially acceptable to drink at 11am while working remotely. This video to me represents the day when life went from a normal day at work and home to not knowing what will ever happen next!!

At the beginning of the lockdown in March 2020 in Switzerland, when my supervisor told me not to come to work due to a cold, I searched for songs about COVID-19 and came across this song. Since then, not a day goes by that I do not listen to this. Even at work, I often go like "Do not fear but please stay here, stay at home now, everyone. We must wash and clean things well, cars? No long trips just for fun"… Now I am in the process of writing a COVID version of this song in German (German is my first language). Many thanks for sharing your talent with us, Shirley, keep your songs coming!!

Only lyrics are replaced by synchronising with the voice of singers. Whatever is shown is nothing but original Song sequence. As such it’s not matching with the present critical situation. However modified song exactly matches. The writer’s effort is definitely praiseworthy.

That's actually a good point. It reminds us that pretty much every generation deals with one new huge life changing crisis or another. After world war II, there was the Cold war... for my generation it was the Vietnam war. For my kids, came 9/11 (even though I really think that one may have affected us more than it did them). For my older grandkids, I'm thinking it was mass school shootings. Now, for the younger ones it's Covid-19. And... unfortunately this covid-19 is DIRECTLY affecting everyone of every generation in this world today. You know, my brain doesn't always work as good as it used to but I really am not remembering anything really big that directly affected us here in the US between Vietnam and 9/11. I mean, there was Desert Storm and all of the Middle East goings on, but all if that really didn't effect the everyday life of all the people in the US as a whole like the other things I mentioned. If anyone reads this and can think of anything I've forgotten, can you please remind me? 🙏. 💞✌️💞
@vickylewis85584 жыл бұрын
I don't know, I think it's a bit insulting to compare Covid19 to the Blitz. Yes a shocking number of people are dying, but children are staying at home with their ipads, not being packed off into the unknown. No-one's being forced into factories to handle high explosives, or sent overseas for years at a time. Our homes aren't being bombed, there's enough food for everyone, we aren't having to have our pets euthanized, there's no threat of enemy invasion, the risk of our children dying is minimal... It is a really unsettling time, we don't know what's coming next, but you really can't compare 2020 with 1940.

I love what you did with this. I consider it pure genius. Sure, it is light and often times funny. Sure there is poetic license. but, the core of the message about how to do our parts to minimize the spread are based in truth. This is just a fun way to present it. In fact, for any home school moms n dads out there this is spot on for helping teach the wee ones the importance of things as simple as washing hands... Bravo for what you have done... I also agree that finger pointing is in poor taste. Unless someone has personal inside knownage of who, what where and when person Zero is anything else is....well just not right to say.

PUBLIC HEALTH ANNOUNCEMENT: Stay away from Salzburg. A former nun (living in close quarters in a convent, and probably involved in crowded charity activities assisting the homeless and poor), decides to move to live in close quarters with many children, whose father is a jet setting philanderer and whose new bae is a socialite (probably been to Aspen recently). These kids and former nun have now galavanted around the entire city and surrounds, whilst wearing clothes fashioned from old curtains from a house that has a high probability of being a cluster of community transmission. Furthermore, as well as wearing infested curtains, they were singing loudly, and singing had been shown to spread infective droplets as far or even further than coughing and sneezing (as seen associated with community transmission clusters linked to choirs).
