Do store bought baits work to catch fish? (LIVERS, GIZZARDS, & HOT DOGS)

i fish that spot all the time and have some of my best luck on fresh cut shad and as mentioned before live bluegill are phenomenal

I have found fur catfish blue gill raw chicken and worms are the best . Actually everything has been bitting on raw chicken I don't even flavor it. I caught a bunch of strippers on it this year.

I don't flavor my chicken either, I have in the past but have not noticed any difference between flavor and plain.

You absolutely do not need to let the hot dogs rot. Catfiish have no trouble finding food. They have some of the best senses besides vision of any fish family. It always puzzles me how I see video after video of this kind of stuff. You did a really good job and I love your channel. but hot dogs, chicken gizards and chicken livers are tried and true catfish bait for generations.

I am interested in those Tiger rods in particular...But anything you have learned about rod specs is appreciated. I am thinking of buying a Tiger rod, but don't know the difference between the Elite and the regular Tiger. What do you look for in a rod, and how much does lure weight matter. The Elite has more graphite in the body than the regular. That means it should be a little lighter and more durable, and little more $$. When I buy a rod a look for 3 things, length, strength, and action. Generally the longer the rod the farther you can cast, most of us stick to around 7' for freshwater. The strength is where the lure weight comes in. The heavier the lure weight/line strength the stronger it is. Stout rods are Meduim-Heavy or Heavy. Lighter rods are Light or Medium. And the action is how flexible the tip of the rod is, fast action means it's very "wobbly" and slow action means it's stiff. Fast action is more exiting to use but not recommended if you are targeting large fish that require a heavy hook set. So I use 7' Medium Heavy and Heavy Tiger Rods specifically for big alligator gar since they can get over 100lbs, I use a few other lighter rods for everything else.

Chicken livers have been around for 40+ yrs that I know of. Yep I'm old and been using them a long time. Find cut bluegill and creek chubs better bait and stay hooked much better. If a fisherman can't learn new tricks he'll never get better.

Pantyhose= simple cheap PVA bag

That it does, I've tried it twice but have been unsuccessful and landing the fish. It was probably just too large of a bait bag for the size of the fish
