I've been using claw clips for awhile now (the other types snagged my hair too), & it has helped immensely! It usually lasts a solid 48 hours, sometimes 72 if I'm lucky! But I put them in closer to like 75-80% dry, & I spritz it with hair spray. (Innersense I create finish usually, sometimes bounce curl's hairspray). It helps give the roots some grit, which fine hair usually needs to maintain any root lift. I've been wanting to try the curl keeper clamps myself, I think I'm going to get them

I have curly/wavy hair just like you, and I have the Curl Keeper clips and absolutely love them! It definitely is trial & error the best way to use them tho. After watching a few YT videos, I put them in before I diffuse, and take them out after my hair is 100% dry and then scrunch out the cast. They've been a total game changer for me!
@susanbridges65547 ай бұрын
I’ve been using these clips for years on my wavy hair which is layered at chin length. They are a game changer. I get big soft curls with no work. Nice volume at the roots too. My hair will frizz if I mess with it too much and this requires minimal processing.
@suespatches78812 ай бұрын
My hair is wavy on the top and curly in the back. As a 71 yo, I find the regular Goody clips keep breaking - sometimes when I drop them and other times they break while in my hair - so I’m gonna buy the clamps. I also have cowlicks. I like what you do to cover them up. All 3 of my adult children have curly hair. As littles, every one of them had straight hair. At puberty, their curls came in. Go figure. I love your honest vids. Keep it up.
@ambivalent58422 ай бұрын
I find that starting with my roots, rather than the other part of my hair, and focusing on pushing my roots upward, gives me far more volume. If I use a root lifting foam, even more. The trick is to flip hair from side to side UPRIGHT push your hair towards the diffuser. Example... if you have you hair on right side o f head ,use your free hand in claw like shale, to gently push the crown towards the left. Diffuse that bubble of hair.
@dreesexton42692 жыл бұрын
I do a very similar technique but with the small, not the tiny, Goody claw clips. I've tried the Curl Keeper clips but find I have more control and get better volume using small claw clips. Plus I can leave them in while my hair air dries and can still run errands without looking too weird...lol. I also use the small claw clips to protect my curls and volume at night.

Ha! When I saw the thumbnail, I had to tell you that clipping my roots is how I guarantee they will stay lifted. Fyi, I always air dry my hair. ... I have fine 2a,b,c shoulder-length hair. My hair never rips with large claw clips but always rips with other types of "no pull" clips especially the metal ones. ... Your hair has slightly more volume with clips.

Hey Courtney! I just have to say that I think your hair is just so lovely now! I've just been watching you about 1 1/2 yrs & I never seen your hair so long. Since I started watching you & taking care of my wavy/curly hair, I've been letting it grow. I know I need to get it cut, to fix the hack job I did,trying to do a deva cut. I just wish I knew about this 30 yrs ago! I'm now 56 yrs young & I know of some people think that I should get it cut short bc they say long hair makes us look older. I'm enjoying my hair for the 1st time in my life. Maybe I'll get a shorter (shoulder length) when I'm 60. You know, I've been looking at those clip for a while, too & debating whether or not to get them. I think you may have convinced me to get them, even though I did just get a bunch of those Deva clips. They seem to work well for me, but like you, I like things as simple as can be. So thank you.

I'm another girl who is 56 years young 💕 I have also been following Courtney for about the same amount of time!! My hair was always long, until 12 months ago when I shaved it all off, as support for my step-sister who had Leukaemia - many years after she had beaten 2 different types of breast cancer. But then...... she had a bone marrow transplant in December 2021, so I shaved it all again!! It's now starting to visibly grow back, but it's disappointingly pretty straight (it's only about 2 inches long or so), and I'm so frustrated!! Rude question: do you colour your hair, or are you going with the silvers??
@simplycurlyde Жыл бұрын
@@cathismith2624 No I'm not colouring my hair, I'm loving even my silvers! The silvers are more porous & are pretty much straight, so it just needs more moisture and I do brush style them to help them curl a bit more. That's great that you are so supportive of your stepsister in her cancer battles. It just may take some times for your curls/waves to come through. Sorry it took me so long to reply.

Your hair did exactly what mine does…silky root issue…volume loss as the hair pulls it down through the day. You might try a volume spray after you remove the clips. A Simple Planet makes one. But those clips seem amazing, I’ve had several people tell me about them. Hmm…

I have silky roots, and my hair doesn’t really start curling or waving until it reaches my ear. Honestly, the clips made no lasting difference. Maybe your hair needed to be wetter and then hairspray when dry? I’m not sure it’s worth the effort for myself as my dense hair always wants to go with gravity: down.

I have been wanting to try them! Tks for the video♥️. I can see root volume for sure in the crown and for sure in the front. I can’t believe how easy the clips came out of your hair. I don’t root clip as often as I should because I too rip hair out when removing clips. It looks great!

I like the volume they gave you! Been wanting to try something similar, but my hair gets frizzy so easily, I feel like it would give me that halo frizz 🤔 I usually air dry my hair so I will use clips to keep the hair out of my face while it’s drying (it breaks me out😭), but they leave dents in my hair so I feel like these would be much better! Thank you for sharing 😊 - silvipea
