Hi Connor, mainly listen to podcast pretty much every day. I am a longtime O's fan. First conscious memory is the 1966 World Series sweep over the Koufax/Drysdale Dodgers. My lived about three blocks from Memorial Stadium on Loch Raven Blvd. Many summer nights were spent on her front porch listening to the game with the lights from the stadium in view. We could hear the roar of the crowd from a big hit or a fielding gem. Your daily broadcast reminds me of those days. Keep up the great work!!

Been following baseball since childhood, a Senators fan with a red Sinclair gas station transistor. It took me until 1994 to be able to cheer for the Orioles (Baltimore was great, Washington sucked, kids are cruel). Discovered this podcast at end of the 2023 season. Listen on Spotify, comment on KZbin. Never miss an episode. I love baseball. Sometimes I forget how much, but "Locked on" reminds me. Connor, your top-notch insight and analysis have illuminated aspects of the game I had not considered: options, pitchers' repertoire, why Elias and especially Hyde make the personnel and game decisions they do. The only change I would make is adding a back-up host--you know, in case you decide to get married again.

Hi Connor I watch your Os podcast everyday and think it’s great. Only recommendation is to improve your network connection as it hiccups from time to time. I love the stats you provide . This stat cast stuff is wild. I saw Cade Povich two years ago in Aberdeen and he had 8 strikeouts through five innings. I told my girlfriend, watch out for this guy. Shame he has to start against a heavy right handed Toronto team but will be a great test. Rooting for him big time. Go Os!!!

Been watching everyday the last 2 years and on the whole lobe the show. Great structure. I do notice a few times per episode where the audio glitches and gets out of sync, so it would be nice if you figured that out and were able to fix it, but it doesn't really impact my enjoyment of the pod that much. Would love to reconnect with him. You favor him, and the age is right for you to be his son or nephew. As for the podcast, you are fantastic! Love the insight about the players options (e.g. player "x" would have to be DFAed or player "y" can be sent to minors once more), and the info pertaining to player's hitting or pitching preferences. I could rewatch the bottom of the 8th till Kingdom Come. Cano completely befuddled the second and third batters he faced. His pitches were nowhere near the plate, but the Jays were swinging for the fences. Cano grinned. Loved it! Thought maybe Hyde would send Cano out for one more inning and save Kimbrel for the anticipated 10th, but 'twas not to be.

If you don't give Povich and McDermott a look at the major league level, you dont know how they'll stack up. They've got the pitches, movement and velocity. I think McDermott will have a better long term career, but Povich looks ready now.

I think calling it kid gloves is being overly harsh…it’s more like being realistic about Kimbrel’s upside. He’s an all time great but is certainly on the back 9 of his career and is going to have a dud every now and then. In truth, he’s always had the occasional dud even in his best years. Also in fairness, his last 4 games were 4 IP with 0 hits, 0 walks, and 4 K’s. Were you up here singing his praises then? Probably not and, if not, coming on to rag on him for his totally predictable and occasional dud outing seems short sighted.

I wouldn't be so eager to play Yanks right now. Not before they cool off a bit. Their pitchers hardly give you anything and Soto/Judge/Stanton/Verdugo are all hitting. O's have gone 10-3 since they got swept in STL but they've lost two games in the standing to Yanks, that's how hot they've been.

I didn't like the pitch selection against Turner last night. He was timing up the fast ball, he fouled off two good ones and you're up 0-2. Why not throw a breaking ball off of the plate in that scenario? Is that on the pitcher or the catcher?

I don't think lefties need to throw 95+ to be effective. Povich's 92-93 mph 4-seamer may not seem that impressive but look at Nestor Cortes. His 4-seamer has basically the same velo, throws it almost 50% and gets big league hitters out.

And the guy in the on deck circle has struggled since returning from injury. Sure IKF has wheels and would likely steal without a throw as you don't want the runner scoring but let it be second and third, get the second out from the struggling nine hole hitter and face the top of the order with two outs. I had four fingers raised at my tv as soon as Turner got to third on the first out. And now we're splitting with the Jays 🤮🤮. Why do we struggle with shit teams like Toronto, St. Louis and Oakland. We're never catching the Yankees
