Hyde is a formula guy. By the book. As an acolyte of Joe Maddon, I’d expect him to integrate his intuition into “by the book” moves.

I say we cut our losses and trade Stowers. It’s impressive that he fought this hard to be in consideration for a spot on a team this good, other teams notice that. Kjerstad should be an everyday player. He raked in AAA and was good in the majors last year

Connor, do you think there's a chance that Povich winds up pitching well enough in the next month that he could lock down a rotation spot even through the playoffs? Or do you think he is viewed as more of a long term solution where he's getting experience this year, but the team feels they need to add a more experienced pitcher at the deadline to fill his spot? I guess a lot hinges on how Kremer looks when he comes back.

Not sure if you're aware, but this episode gets cut off at 15 minutes on Amazon.

Povich needs to live up in the zone with his 4-seamer like Nester Cortes. It's good that he only walked one last night but if you're gonna walk anyone in the Cleveland lineup, walk Ramirez especially with the game on the line. Let's not kid ourselves, Kjerstad is up here to replace Cowser for a while since Cowser has stopped hitting since the league figured out that he can only hit the FB. Also if they let Tony Taters walk after this season as things stand now, I'm not sure what good having Rubenstein as the owner compared to Angelos will be since he's been the only productive OF for the last two months. This is the downside of scoring 17 then 14 runs in back to back games which is everyone is trying to hit the ball 500 feet. I remember two things about the 2019 WS Champ Nats, one is that Dave Martinez saying "let's go 1-0 today" after the terrible first couple of months in that season. And two is that just getting on base and passing the baton to the next guy up. Right now just about every O's hitter is trying to do too much during the losing streak.

I agree; it might even be time to send Cowser down and let Kjerstad and Stowers both play. If they both hit, great, but either way I think a good look at the majors will improve trade value for both of them. There is little reason to keep both. Or Cowser could be moved (at least he's a decent defender with speed), though I am not sure what you could get for him. But I think packaging Povich with one of these three young outfielders could net a very good starting pitcher or a great reliever.

Congrats to my Tennessee Vols, 2024 national champs! Is this the year of orange and black?

Baltimore Orioles need to get their shit together. I know they will, its darkest before the dawn and the boys are going a down spell right now. Brighter days ahead, lets hope O's management also have some hustle in the next couple of mths. Let's go Baltimore, lets kick arse 1000! 🐤❤️⚾💪

They really need to have a great trade deadline to have a chance this year.

We are losing Sandander so Kjerstad needs to claim that lefty power bat spot.
@CamKrazy20003 ай бұрын
Why, are we just gonna let everybody walk once they become a FA? Then what good is having a new owner?? Tony Taters has been the ONLY productive OF since May when Cowser stopped hitting.

@@hidesinlonggrass3229 Define "lots of $" and tell me who on the team would fill the RBI void. Cowser can't hit off-speed pitches and the rest of the OF this season has done very little. You tell me where this team would be without Santander this season.

Povich looks like he hides the ball well too which could help the deception on his 4seam.

Why is Mcann playing against a righty? Bad enough when he plays against a lefty but no real reason to have him in against a righty when we are facing a lefty today.
@LockedOnOrioles3 ай бұрын
He's been way better against righties than lefties this year (granted, bad overall against both). So he's not in there for matchups anymore. It's more about whenever Adley needs a half day off or when Hyde wants McCann to work with a certain pitcher.
@Esteromafia3 ай бұрын
@@LockedOnOrioles Yeah way better is a bit of a stretch since it is 584 ops vs a 426 ops in a small sample size and his career splits say he is better against lefties. I understand the day off thing but seems to me today would have been the more logical day with our offense struggling a bit hard to have the McCann bat in there.
