But wait. What about circadian rhythm & melatonin, shutting down the pancreas, glucose etc? Is this right at bedtime or 2-3 hours before?

Yeah, definitely slightly conflicting info. Personally, I try not to have protein so close to bed time, but based on Don Layman’s work, I load up on protein for my last meal and same for my first meal next day. Middle meal isn’t that important, relatively speaking

But I thought eating before bed impairs sleep quality ??? I’m so confuseddd

Wont this disturb sleep by activating metabolism? Hurting one aspect of recovery to enhance another? Or am I full of sh..

While I’m not an expert, metabolism is a simultaneously less fragile and more long term metric than something one meal will alter… I’ve had great success eating before bed, not loads of carbs but high meat for example some grass fed burgers no bun with reduced fat cheese and no sugar added sweet baby rays, air fry and Pam spray add salt to some green beans and they’re like fries and one serving of fruit with a Diet Coke, killer way to end the day and feel satiated

I just don’t get it. Isn’t it recommended to not eat 3 hours before sleep? Jesus can we get a consensus on ANYTHING???

Rhonda, have you ever done a video on a supplement thought to be effective against chronic pain like arthritis or arthrosis etc called Palmitoylethanolamide.

But then we also say do not do not do not eat after the sun goes down. You want a good 12 hours of fasting.

I have a shake every night before sleep. I've been doing it for years. And I'm a monster!! 🤣
@MsSunstoned15 сағат бұрын
what is exactly in your shake?
@HardRockMiner15 сағат бұрын
@MsSunstoned - 1 banana. 1 scoop collagen. 1 scoop protein powder. 1cup protein almond Milk.

@@HardRockMiner thank you. what's the source of the protein powder: whey, casein or some other source? and the protein almond milk; is that a thing?
@HardRockMiner15 сағат бұрын
@MsSunstoned - Whey. I've read multiple studies that show Casein isn't any better than Whey even when sleeping. Casein isn't as "slow releasing" as they'd like you to believe. And Protein Almond Milk is certainly a thing where I live. 18g per 250ml.

People always say you get fat eating before bed.. I look much better than those people. Honestly my favorite meal is my last 35 mins before bed loaded with protein, higher fat and moderate to low carb, I might take a berberine and go for a few laps around my apartment after the meal, but I’ve maintained my diet so much better following this then trying to play the game people say and go to bed empty stomach or hungry.

I have my 2nd vegetable juice of the day comprising celery, cucumber, and ginger preparatory to bed. Additionally, I have 6 oz of salmon, or a whey protein isolate.

What about fasting before sleep, until morning? I understood that the energy used for digestion during this sleep period detracted from sleep quality and effectiveness. I guess I got that wrong.
