To be fair it’s just how it be after you’ve been absorbing knowledge and experimenting things for a while, you can be pro at this as well given the right guidance and enough time
@cybergalacticnova3 жыл бұрын
As someone who does it, really the best thing is to absorb knowledge on color theory. And: observation, _observation,_ *_observation_* Drawing from observation is the best practice instead of looking up tutorials. You'll analyze stuff you don't know and incorporate it into art and take your art to the next level.
@pat40053 жыл бұрын
It's not random. A pro is a pro because they have spent time learning to understand what they see in reality, and apply it to their work. It's important to study what is real, so then, even if you draw fantasy characters, or stylized things, you know how to make that art more relateable, because you have aspects of it that are important, anchored in reality. So really learning how to draw, and understand anatomy, and how to build a character, objects and enviornments, will actually make your non-realism work better and stronger. Then you can go on to learn more in depth things like color theory. Many pro artists do studies in grayscale, along with color studies, before they actually do a painting. So they spend time doing sketches, layouts and color studies before they start the actual painting. Everything is worked out and planned. Then all the fun stuff can happen when you are doing the art. You can just go with the flow because you have your knowledge, art skills and a road map.

This is a perfect and very useful step. We as artists get so excited to share stuff to social media, and only after a day or so do we notice our mistakes, or things we could have done differently. The need to slow down and return to your work with a fresh eye before posting is immense. Great tip on the air drop. Always looking at things how your audience will consume them does give an advantage to you as an artist. Great job!

I’ve stopped putting my art on social media. It’s hollow interaction for me. I like it better showing it off in real life. You get in a trap of creating what you think others want to see.
@hrishitta3 жыл бұрын
People post online to possibly make it their job and have a future with art. They do it to get it out there and to have new people see their art. Sure some people get into a trap of creating art just for others to see but I think eventually as one matures, that thought fades and they're able to strike a balance between painting what they want and what others want to see
@somethingthing71713 жыл бұрын
I think this is useful. I kinda fell into this trap and I’ve been a bit dissatisfied with my own works thanks to it.
@christinelee64773 жыл бұрын
I get what you're saying and haven't posted or shown much of my art on social media.. But then it never gets seen. I post it to share it with the world. I agree that it's a hollow interaction. I dislike social media for multiple reasons. But, as an artist you don't get your work out there unless you share.
@valle..3 жыл бұрын
If art is a hobby for you then that's reasonable, but if you intend to go professional it would be a good idea to learn how to get out of this "trap" and to what you want, unless you can get in a gallery or something just by showing your work personally. People want you to think by yourself, they just don´t know it. They think they want tropes and trends, but if your ideas are truly good, then you should stick to your plan. Just think about great movies like Star Wars, Inglorious Bastards and Inception, that were very distinct of others of their time and now compare them to a blockbuster that sold well bc used all the tropes that people like. Which ones do you consider the best?

This is a solid advice. The old saying "let's take a step back" stems from the ancient painters who worked directly on walls or canvases. Taking one or more steps back to see the artwork from a different perspective/view always help recognizing things that are "off". This applies to everything that has to "look good". Even something as mundane as a software GUI will benefit from the artist taking a step back from the desk and monitor to watch the graphics from a distance, even if it's just one step back from the chair. I usually leave the graphics up while I go away to do different things so that when I come back and see it again I will usually notice some detail that should be getting more love. Your suggestion to keep the image on your phone, is something I will definitely try. Another advice is to "sleep on it", I know, another old saying...but very rewarding before committing to something important. 🙂👍

I do the same thing with writing! Before editing my works I will take a break from my story for a couple hours or a day and then come back to it and the fresh start lets my brain find the mistakes I would have ignored in my rough draft. :D this also works with other things like Video games. You ever get stuck on a level and it feels like you can’t get it? Take a small break and I promise you will find it much easier once you’ve let your mind relax (✿´‿`)
