Nice. Been running the Darche Dusk to Dawn 900 for a few years now, third swag. Mate throw it in the tub overnight, total soak. Set it up with all zips done up and all poles, ropes on in the direct sun, to dry as fast as possible. Let it shrink right up! Do it a few times over the years, I use this method as a clean as well opportunity.

That is a bloody awesome idea. Never thought of doing that. Ripper idea. Thanks mate

I have one in both sizes from CrashPad and I slept in the King Double for bout 3 odd months straight and apart from the mattress not being firm enough and getting a sore hip from side sleeping it held up to some crazy weather here in Vic and you can also get some little poles from tentworld that turn the flap wich has eylets in the corners into an awning and all you need is some cord and pegs to tension them dowm down, cool little feature imho

Good point mate. That’s a good addition for sure

I've owned a Crashpad swag for four years. The canvas quality is excellent-however they leak like a teabag due to the lack of a tanked floor. Water wicks through the canvas (not the seams and after proofing) into the mattress and soakes your bedding. The design has not changed since I purchased mine to add the tank floor. Crashpad Customer service tried to fob me off telling me it was condensation. Funny how it only occurs when it's raining. I've slept in canvas shelters in many climates around the world and i know the difference. Will never buy another Crashpad until they fix the floor issue.

Wow! Thats interesting mate. I do see what you mean though. I wont have that issue with it on the stretcher, but its a bloody good point

Came to say this exactly. Aside from that one flaw it’s absolutely fantastic, but that one flaw can be a dealbreaker when it starts pissing down. Kulkyne is an example of a good swag that has a tub that comes up (I’m also a big fan of the way they’ve got spring rods built-in to their stretchers to hold out the flaps, making it a truly self-supporting swag, Which could be awfully nice when you don’t wanna worry about tripping over a tie in the dark.) I like the quality of the crash pad products from the swag itself to the bag, but I’m awfully disappointed in the design flaw. This was supposed to be my one and done but it’s gonna end up being 500 bucks that sits on the shelf because I can’t trust it in the rain.

Ahh thats a water wheel mate. Old school way of watering our paddocks. It used to be the way the water was metered so we knew how much we used.

It’s almost a great product. The problem is the bloody tub doesn’t come up at all. So if there is any water that flows up against your swag at all, it will get in. All they had to do was raise the tub 50 to 60 mil up along the sides and it would’ve been brilliant. Other swag do this I don’t know why crash pad didn’t. Aside from that it’s fantastic some of the best sleep I’ve ever had. But the off chance that I’ll get rained on and end up wet is a problem.

Looks like this could be a one and done purchase. Probably won’t need a camper unless you feel the need to expand for more space.

The space is the key mate. I think I may be sorted.

Great review mate, but just wondering how do you close that flap with Velcro on it once you are inside the swag and zipped up 🤔🤔
@Haveacrack764 ай бұрын
They tend to sit there naturally. They are all reachable with the zip in different positions though. Its really not an issue.

It's a one and done product really. Heavy duty, quick setup. Quality components. Reputable brand and replacement pole available should you need then. I'm on my original set and I reckon I'm 3 or 4 years in now. I'm 6'3 so I'm at the limits of it size wise I reckon, but I also pair it with a stretcher when bush (beach I usually don't bother). I leave my sleeping bag inside and don't put a lot of effort into rolling it up tight, but it still fits easily into the bag, which I really appreciate. And I also love that the bag is equally heavy duty canvas that will take some serious abuse. All round, solid solid product.

True that. I didnt even mention the bag I dont think. All round awesome product.

I've Had the crashpad king single for a year and a half. I have camped on all sorts of surfaces from river rocks, grass and concrete slabs. The mattress is amazing I'm 120kg+ and 6,3". Never woken up sore. Honestly can't fault it!

I have the 23Zero 900 wide. Looks a lot like this. The mattress I take depends on the season. 90mm thick for freezing winter or 50mm for summer. Always on a stretcher. I sleep better than at home!. I have many sleep tents and systems but I've found the system you showed just works. For very cold temps I throw a heat reflective sheet under the mattress, It works!. I chose the 900 wide for heat retention and pack down size. But that is not hear or there really.
@Haveacrack766 ай бұрын
I really like the idea of the heat reflector under it. Really good idea mate.

I used an emergency blanket under my swag mattress a few weeks ago, word of warning is you'll need to check for condensation on the underside of the mattress in the morning....but I slept really warm...almost too warm by that one addition. Next time, I'll put the space blanket (or one of the reusable ones) between the swag and cot to reduce the condensation issue.
