This is a great warm up but personally I would do these movements and then run last as a final warm up before lifting. Those shoulder touch bear hold things - incredible form!!
@carastone3473 Жыл бұрын
Definitely run last if you're actually doing it as an actual cardio session. Otherwise, running is great as part of a dynamic warm-up as long as you're keeping it brief.

You’re supposed to warm your muscles and body up before stretching to prevent injury while stretching.
@nathanbattye1433 Жыл бұрын
If you want the benefit of the jog for the warm up and joints without actually using your cardio time up in the beginning, switch out the jog for some backwards walking on a ‘dead’ treadmill. Push your butt into the controls/handle and focus on knees over toes while pushing the treadmill away from you.
@leezae3183 Жыл бұрын
Yes most trainers say to keep anything cardio/high intensity at the end of ur workout cuz they deplete ur energy stores quiet fast. Personally I love doing a 3-5 min stretches but not anything static as I keep that for after my cardio session
@Spijen Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I prefer the stairmaster for warming up because it actually starts stretching the muscles I need and gets my heart pumping. The treadmill takes too much energy out of me lol I reserve that for cardio sessions

I used to only do like 2 warm up exercises until recently when I saw your warm up in multiple videos. The first time I did one similar to this it made the workout so much more intense and I felt so much better during my static stretching after the workout!!! It proves how important it is to do a good warm up

@curtcassese12438 ай бұрын
Well for real muscle building to efficiency ratio starting squats is the best. You blow all your energy on the most important work out of leg day. I mean stretching your muscles to get blood flow or tiny bit of specific exercise that helps with like gluten activation deficiency or improving hip flexors Is good to but let's be honest no wants to do half hour of random workouts only to loose energy and motivation after your first workout then if you find motivation to continue the rest of legday, youl be at the gym for 2 hours. I would rather train my clients to alway aim for 45 minutes to 1 hour workout total as I always seems to hit everyone's check box. Like getting in and out, never dread coming to the gym, or like you have to sacrifice something in your life outside of working out only just to workout for 2 hours

Nice but with a warm up this long and incorporating dynamic stretches of this nature, I reckon you could be robbing yourself of reps that could be more beneficial to hypertrophy later in the workout (I mean if that’s your goal)

Robbing yourself of reps? No. Preparing the muscles to work in order to help prevent injury? Yes.

Everyone's body is different, so yes, I could definitely see how this "warmup" could be a bit much for a lot of people. I might do something similar to this, like half of these exercises as a warm up, & save the stretches for after my actual workout 🤔

I literally did this before my leg day the other day and some random dude went up to me and „kindly“ gave me the unasked tip to don’t do this before weight lifting or it will destroy my body yeahhhh
@roykeane19229 ай бұрын
He is absolutely correct. The dynamic stretching is fine to open up certain joints, hip flexors etc but doing 5 mins of cardio on treadmill/eliptical/stepper is an INHIBITOR of strength and hypertrophy gains in resistance training. This has been studied for decades. Please do not fall into this trap because influencer is in good shape, she does not have a PhD. Warm up the muscles doing the chosen exercise at a very low weight at the chosen rep range. You do not want to induce any systemic fatigue before resistance training period, but doing so before the most systemically intense workout (leg day) is extremely counterproductive and increases your risk of injury

The reason i dont run before any workout is because i have asthma, and i get so out of breath and tired after my runs that it ruins my form. This isn't for everybody, but the other warmups are top tier. Unfortunately my legs are too tired after leg day to run but every other day of the week i do a run around my block (Only after workouts on core and arm days to protect my form) and it helps to make sure you're keeping cardio up and moving enough to stay healthy.

Helps prepare the muscles to work in order to prevent injury; that's how it affects weight lifting. If you just walk in and start lifting with no warm-up at all, you're more likely to strain or pull something.
