You gotta embrace that part though. It's like the ugly phase of locs, it's a journey. But I feel you cause my hair is real short. I'm thinking of adding jumbo twists until it grows and looks proper in this particular style lol. Is that cheating? Is that going to break my hair off? Idk but Ima try it. Put my water and grease.

I keep my hair in small natural braids for 4 to 6 weeks at a time 85% of the time. I work out and sweat a lot. I just wash with the braids, add a leave-in, some oil and keep it rolling. I can wear it out , in various buns, halo braids etc. This is a great length retention style for sure... oan I remembered when you did a big chop a few years ago and your hair has grown like crazy. Simply beautiful hair😍

So true! I remember my mother platting my hair in lots of plats and she would wash, condition, and oil it with oils she or my grandmother made while my hair was platted. She would replat it on Saturdays or Sundays for the week. She eventually taught me how to plat my own hair and at 12 years old, which was great for me because I was an athlete. So, I started doing my own hair the same way my mother did it. I still plat my hair to this day. However, since my hair is so long and my schedule is heavy, I don't have time to plat, unplat, and replat all of it. So, I plat part of it and leave the rest loose and just keep it moist.

I love this style for my hair; I use flaxseed gel with castor oil, and it makes my braids hard has rocks, lol, keeps my hair protected and sealed. I got 1 inch of growth on my left and 2 inches of growth ( retained length) on my right side after three months. All I did was add more flaxseed gel on top of my braids every week or two. 🥰 You can also use the flaxseed gel has a moisture face mask; it tightens pores 😝☺️✨👏🏾🙌🏾. I enjoyed this video💗

cool sis beautiful hair...i dont braid to the end i just twist (two strand) about an inch or so to the end...like u said so much easier than pulling out them thin plaits at the end of the strand no sah mi nuh av time fi dat...also reduce breakge since it tangles less...i think ahah
