Take a file and sharpen it run a prop nut balancer from the start and you won’t get out of balance. I’ve ran the same prop sense 2016 with no problems.

Syncing the motor is another vibration reducer. Essentially loosen the two screws holding the motor in the housing, barely twist it while power is on and you’ll hear it audibly change tone. Shut it off and tighten up.

This is a new tip for me. Thanks.

@@moynaghbassfishes3818 I gained .3mph and noticed a little more battery life. It’s kind of like hearing a circular saw, notice how fast and smooth it sounds until you contact materials being cut. You notice the bog down and noise change. If that makes sense

Just wondering does the skeg cause vibration also? My skeg took a couple bumbs and knocked the paint off for sure but also put knicks and a few small chips into it.

I don't think that would matter. Maybe you bent the propshaft, because that would cause vibration.

... All those people being PAID to use the "Nut" or like the "Bling" they think it brings. Yes, yes, yes, a tool isn't needed and it is quick and simple to remove the prop by the owner but anyone else walking by your rig in the parking lot doesn't need a tool either. ;-) I read and heard some ridiculous claims about the, "nut", that a common sense, now using the phrase, "good sense", thinking person would never make, like, "It makes the motor run cooler." Really, really!! You believe that!!?? Watch this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2GmdXyBqJakoZo .

So your worn out, unbalanced prop was causing the vibration. If, as I also suspect, an unbalanced prop is causing my excessive vibration, then apparently even brand new props can't be trusted since my Minn Kota Endura vibrated like crazy right out of the box. I'm gonna go out on the water later today and try taking the prop off to see what happens. If it doesn't vibrate without a prop, then only the prop can be causing it. Then the question will be, how can I know that I will get a balanced prop when I buy a new one to replace it? ...And by the way, I bought the motor at a big chain sporting goods store over two years ago, but for unexpected reasons too complicated to go over here, I didn't get to unbox and use it until yesterday. Otherwise I would simply return it.

It would be interesting to hear what you determine to be the source of the vibration.

@@moynaghbassfishes3818 I did get a chance between storms to do some testing on the water, and It's definitely the prop. Firstly, with no prop the shaft doesn't wobble and there is zero vibration. I then put the prop back on but turned it 180 degrees, and it still vibrates but is noticeably better. I then put on a Weedless Wedge prop I had bought to keep in the boat for a spare, and there was only the slightest touch of vibration. In conclusion, I wish Minn Kota did a better job of ensuring that we get a well-balanced prop every time.
