I work til 1am so when I'm at work and it's really busy non stop I hum a song while doing my work and that really does make a difference. Relaxes me, makes me feel good, it winds me down and helps me focus on what im doing calmy. Didnt know anything about this nerve but dam does it work. It also rubs off on people because they say, You're always happy, calm and look like you enjoy work. I do love my job and so since it makes me feel better and have done it ever since. I drive home relaxed and after a nice relaxing shower I sleep like a baby listening to a sleep meditation video.

@@kevinspano7315 Hi trust me there's still days I hum just to push through, stay positive and awake while working just to be able to get in the much needed overtime go home sleep for four hours and then go to my day job from 7 to 3 and then repeat afternoon job from 3:30 to 1am keeps me going

I can pretty much always fall asleep. If I wake up a couple hours later though for whatever reason, I can never go back to sleep. I slept an entire 6 hours straight last night. It was heavenly

Dr. Mandell - I have done this two nights in a row. After the first night, I noticed that my tinnitus, which came on suddenly after my second Covid (Pfizer) vaccine, diminished at night, when its at it worst, and the next day, too. Last night I hummed about 30-45 minutes before I listened to my audible book to drift off. Last night was the best sleep I had in months! And, once again, my tinnitus isn't gone but - wow - it is certainly diminished. I thought you'd like to know this about the tinnitus. There seems to be a connection. Thank you for this.

I too have insomnia... I have suffered from many years without sleep since my two adult children have passed away... I'm going to try this tonight because I don't sleep and I sleep all day long but not at night I can't deal with this any longer !! I pray for tonight for some sleep and I will practice this and hope this at least give me some sort of peace

Thank you Dr. Mandell. Here’s another tip for sailing off to sleep quickly. As you climb into bed say to yourself: “I’m going to sleep so well tonight! I can’t WAIT to fall asleep!” You’re basically programming your mind to sleep. I sleep deeply every night for 7-8 hours or more since I started saying this affirmation.

If you are post-menopausal (like me) consider bio-identical hormones. Prior to being prescribed BIHs, I would fall asleep, wake around 1am or so, and could not get back to sleep. It is the progesterone in my BIHs that has allowed me to return to a full night's sleep. But not all MD's are trained in BIHs, so be prepared to do your own investigation. Hope this helps.

New to this channel but finding it helpful. I will try the breathing tonight. It is like the OM in yoga, and I have always found that sound very very calming. I also liked Dr. Mandel’s video where you use the side of the hand to massage down the sides of the neck for neck pain. I have been using this for a few days now and it is helpful. You are right, no advertising is nice. Much relief not seeing ads.

I never have trouble sleeping until my cluster headaches arrive. OMG death sentence. Then the sweat from hot flashes were a nightmare. Thank goodness for hormone replacement. Got rid of those quick but no cure for clusters☹️
