As much as I like these tires, I’m curious about the Trailmax Raids. You all have any experience with them?

Dunlop TrailMax, would love try them on the desert sands here.

No, waiting for you to review them!!! So I can make a decision 🤣 Heard nothing but good on the Raids, outside of the tire wear being the only weakness, but if it's a better offroad and simiar on road as the Missions, I'm in! Dunlop send a set please to AU

@@wilsonjui1425lol. I’ve been hearing the same about wear. My biggest worry is loosing some of the great road feel with these

Trust 2 track better, tried both.

They wear really fast

If you're riding between dirt and pavement quite a bit, I would recommend the LSK electronics harness. It lets you hols the favorite function button (the star) for 0.5 seconds to disable rear ABS, traction and wheelie control automatically in any drive mode. It also adds the ability to have memory for what was disabled, so on shut down and start up the assists stay off. Its a little pricey at $132, but its a one-and-done solution that doesn't cause any problems and is well tested and built.

Tires & suspension are arguably the two most important areas aimed at your riding health. Getting the suspension dialed in is critical for a good safe ride & putting that down to the ground is where tires make / break you? Dual sport bike riders really need to know their "Intent" for the bike if they want to have the bike setup properly for how/where they ride. Everyone has to know the type riding that will do, guessing the percent of Roads to Dirt is important so you get the right tires. If I say I'll need 50/50 tires half on roads & half on dirt.... I'd go up to a 60/40 tire. It's a lot easier to pick up your bike when it falls on dirt so I'd personally think you want a better tire for road that dirt. Falling on the street is the worst for you & the bike. So if I think I need a 60/40 tire I'm gonna get a 70/30, bumping my street up 1 level from what I guess I'll be riding. I say this b/c falling on a street is so much worse most the time. If I'm wrong please share b/c I'm learning... that's why I stopped to see this video. peace

This is good to hear. Though, s lot of people seem to love the Shinkos, too. Based on what you've said here, these are probably the tires I'm going with.

Ît would be interesting to compare the Dunlop Mission's to the Raid's.

I have a set on my Triumph Tiger 1200 and I agree they are an excellent choice for touring. They give you confidence on and off road even in cooler climates. I’m from Canada eh

Love the Traimax Missions on my DR650. Went with Mitas E07+ on my ATAS though.

I’ve had experience with the Motoz, funny you mention vibration - I’m guess all depends on the environment/nation you are in. Here in the Middle East, it’s the best setup on tarmac/loose gravel

Great video thanks. Can I ask what's the name of your tech channel is?

Good video! I also have an Africa Twin and I put on the Motoz Tractionator GPS front and rear. I don't like them on the AT because they create an engine related vibration in 3rd and 4th gear between 25 to 35 mph. I pull the clutch or go to 5th and it goes away. They definitely cause what is called third-order vibration. Anything like that with the Dunlop's?

I really don’t get any of that here. The only thing I noticed from stock (a much softer tire) is the reduction in grip due to the hard compound

Good job riding 😊

I’m considering these for my v-strom 650. The harder compound seems like it’ll get you more miles for your $.

I ran Trailmax Missions on my Tiger 900 Rally Pro for 10,000 miles. Big Meh… scary slick on the road, and just OK off road. Big plus is they wear like iron. Have about 5,000 miles on Trailmax RAID. Now THOSE are true game changers. Blow the Missions away both on and off road. Not even close. Probably will only get about 8,000 miles. But I will sacrifice a bit of wear for far superior all around performance. Just sayin. And I ride in the Smoky Mountains and do a true 50/50 mix.

In my opinion this sandy section is 20% about tire and 80% about the rider. Adv tires don't make miracles, the key is the rider.
@adventureundone3 ай бұрын
True but momentum is nice to g have, a tire like this most would expect it to suck in sand

@@adventureundoneagreed. Even the most experienced rider can be taken off guard. So any increase in confidence from equipment helps across the board.
