I Definitely want to see the actual necessity of protein. I mentioned recently that I am new to this and my natural body tended towards most of what you described. I started with your basic calisthenics and did my first pull up yesterday!! But the grainy legume protein push had my stomach all confused. Today was the start of me going back to heavier fruits even before I watched the video. It was kismet that I was actually eating some fresh cut papaya while watching this video. Anyway, I have children and my 40th birthday is around the corner, so thank you for being here and being in a position I can actually relate to. I finally have direction, confirmation, and dont feel alone!

For sure. But don't forget to do the protein video when you get the data ready. Lol. I know one of the amazing things you bring to the table is that you have actually lived these things and know for real what happens. The idea that 32 grams of fruit protein can translate to something behaviorally more like 64 grams would be life changing for sure. Love what you do!

5 Bananas in a smoothie - and unlimited fruit are a recipe for DIABETES and METABOLIC SYNDROME and INSULIN RESISTANCE. One average Banana has about 6 teaspoons of sugar and 23 grams of carbs. Worst possible diet advice!
@MinusTheGym Жыл бұрын
@mamamal3 Ignore the haters and carnivore dieters. They don’t know that fructose doesn’t require insulin to unlock the cell and reach the mitochondria. Eating more fruits and vegetables will actually reduce your insulin resistance and improve sugar uptake, long as the diet is reasonably low in fat. Also, the American Diabetes Association reports that any fruit is fine for a person with diabetes, so long as that person is not allergic to that type of fruit. It’s because most fruits have low GI scores and they acknowledge the unique properties of fructose.

@MinusTheGym Жыл бұрын
I’ll have to search for it. I learned of that from the documentary Food Matters, plus John Rose has talked about it and Sunwarrior protein cited MPI too. But most importantly, my experience has taught me it’s true. I often eat as little as 60-70 g. protein from raw food, yet I build strength and don’t lose lean mass. It works.

Hi, While I completely agree on the fact that most people should eat more fruits and vegetables, there are a few things that I find confusing. - Around 2min there is something that is really bothering me. Saying "instead of trusting science because it can be biased, try it and see for yourself" is quite problematic to me, because in many ways it can be a terrible advice. There are many things that we actually shouldn't test ourselves, espescially in science and nutrition. - I really would like to know where that thing about raw proteins having twice the value of cooked protein comes from. I see nothing about that from the max planck institute (instead, I found a page on skeptics exchange that has this title : " Is cooked protein less digestible than raw protein? " and that says that it's most likely a hoax). Plus research show that cooking can actually improve bioavailability of proteins. It's the case for lentils for instance. So I really hope that people who watch this video don't actually start believing that 30g of raw proteins = 60g of cooked proteins... - Also, losing weight isn't really a sign that it's better for you. It's mostly a sign that you're spending more calories than you're eating during your day. But I doubt that it's really good in the long term.

Hi, What are your take on coporating legumes into fruit/ vegetables?
@MinusTheGym Жыл бұрын
I have an interesting perspective on legumes (and grains). I believe they’re not our species-specific food because we can’t eat them in their raw unprocessed state. We must soak them and then either sprout or cook them so we remove the antinutrients. But, if choosing between legumes or meat for additional protein, legumes are definitely the lesser of two evils. I eat legumes and lentils pretty regularly with dinner. So I’m not saying they’re “bad” by any means, just saying I believe they’re not the most optimal food for us like fruit and veg.
@yodaa7100 Жыл бұрын
@@MinusTheGymRyan, the diets of the of longest living populations all over the world (look for blue zones) always include lots of legumes. They are really good for us. Structured water? I don’t think so. But chewing your smoothie is legit.
@MinusTheGym Жыл бұрын
😆 well, it’s information like this (and my own firsthand experience) that has me personally convinced about the structured water in fruit: “ “We have often noticed that personal hydration levels increase following consumption of fruits and vegetables,” say boomer generation health experts Dian Griesel, Ph.D., and Tom Griesel, authors of the new book TurboCharged: Accelerate Your Fat Burning Metabolism, Get Lean Fast and Leave Diet and Exercise Rules in the Dust (April 2011, BSH). “We used to wonder why this would happen, since we have always encouraged drinking adequate quantities of pure water,” says Tom. “These studies confirmed our observations, and have made fruit and vegetable consumption a prime focus in the TurboCharged program.” As the Griesels note, fruits and vegetables contain hydrating salts, minerals and sugars, so they serve as both a meal and a drink. The Naples study found that they are more effective at hydrating than water or even isotonic sports drinks favored by athletes.”

Hmm questionable advice.. If this really worked why is a random calisthenics youtuber the first one I hear this from? Also wouldn't eating that amount of fruits every day give you a consistent sugar overdose, leading to diabetis?
@MinusTheGym Жыл бұрын
No, fructose doesn’t require insulin to unlock the cell. You need not worry about fructose sugar from whole fruit. And it does work. That’s why fruits and vegetables have always been touted as health food. My mother and grandmother used to always hound me to eat my fruits and vegetables as a kid. This is also why Jack LaLanne, Paul Bragg and other health gurus of the 20th century emphasized fruits and vegetables too. Hell, even Sesame Street teaches to eat fruits and veggies. This is nothing new! Lol I honestly can’t believe some of the questions I’m getting about this 😆
@Chrisssssssssssssssssss Жыл бұрын
@@MinusTheGym I understand fruits and vegetables are healthy. The fact is that you're promoting a lifestyle where these are 80% of your intake. Every dietitian will tell you a balanced diet is optimal. Yes that includes fruits and vegetables, but also legumes, nuts, carbs and some essentials you can't get from fruit & vegetables such as vitamin b12 and omega-3 fatty acids. I don't say you're necessarily wrong and if this works for you for all I care keep doing what you're doing. However, putting this out there as 'the best way to eat' seems a bit misleading and in the worst case harmful to me.
@rezzieggg Жыл бұрын
The problem is are most people eating a balanced diet anyway? A lot of people don’t eat a lot of fruits and vegetables but place more importance on protein because of what we’ve been told. Especially in this low carb/ keto/ paleo world where we’re told too much fruit can cause diabetes and we’re taught to fear all carbs. When really it’s too much fat and processed sugar and other ultra-processed foods causing obesity, insulin resistance and diabetes. Fruit has the fiber intact which slows down the rate of the fruit sugar entering the bloodstream. And idk about you but for me it’s very hard to overeat fruit, especially when they’re so water rich (most of them). But the only way to know is to try it for yourself and see how you feel for a month or two. That’s what I did and it’s been working for me six months later. I would say though that greens are really more of a powerhouse in nutrition as opposed to fruit. I’m trying to incorporate more raw greens in my diet via green smoothies every day (with enough fruit to make it easier to consume).
@villentretenmerth11 Жыл бұрын
Dear Ryan. Why are you repeating false claims about structured water? This term is related to a known marketing scam.
