I kinda did this with my DA ex. I really miss her company, so I wrote to her to say, let's just be friends. Goin for the odd coffee....pub....or walks. At her pace as and when she wants. I didn't pressure her or anything. Did I do right or wrong? We had a great, but short, relationship. No arguments, just laughs.... Until a week later, her best friend sadly passed away and I think this mayve triggered her into ending things.

It sounds like you approached the situation with kindness and respect, which is commendable. Offering to stay friends and giving her the space to decide when and how to meet up is a thoughtful gesture. Considering her recent loss, it’s understandable that she might need some time to process her emotions. It's important to be patient and supportive during this difficult period for her. Sometimes, the best thing we can do is simply be present and understanding.

My ex is a widower and we started dating merely 4 months after his wife passed. We had a great time during the 2 year relationship but he abruptly broke things off and rebounded (again) Although we live 10 hours apart he wants to stay friends ( I’m not even an option) lol. We have spent some time together since but he is not interested in reconciliation at the moment or maybe never. At first I wanted to reconcile but why would I take someone back who no longer sees me as someone he’d like to be with anymore? I deserve someone who choses me.
