Asia is a continent not a race. They are not mongoloid. Middle Easterns, pakistan, kashmir, smelly india have nothing genetically in common with yellow people like korean, chinese, japanese, thai people. And oriental men are not masculine or have much testerone

@@generatorrex484 well your statement sounds a bit conflicting as there is nothing in common between balkans and central asia, literally nothing in common. Turkey holds an islamic herritage and I would definitely say that has very similar mentality as most middle eastern countries as well. Of course it is most modern and liberal out of them, probably along with Azerbaijan but still it doesn't feel european. Apart from food that is somehow similar to greek food, but also to other middle eastern countries, like Lebanon or Syria, I personally don't see much cultural similarities between turks and the rest of Europe. Of course there might be few similarities between the balkans and Turkey but not that much. Could you explain me what is exactly similar between Balkans and Turkey? It would be nice to learn something new. When I personally was in Turkey, it reminded me more of Tunisia than Europe, I mean in cultural sense (not nature). @@JH-pv6rd okey firstly balkans was in Ottoman empire's area of influence for hundreds of years so a cultural exchange has undoubtedly happened. for example Turkish customs and Balkan customs really are similar. From our communal gatherings to how we treat family or ohr guests. I was raised in Balıkesir (a western turkish city). and i have a lot of similar experiences to my friends who was born and raised in bulgaria. how our family raised us, cultural holiday gifts, even the lace decorations in our grandparents' houses were similar. i am for sure a lot of balkan kids experienced drinking alcohol from fridge thinking it is water. i can say the same for a lot of turkish kids too. our dances and music have similar vibes too. if you ever visited a balkans wedding, you would notice that it is very similar to a western turkish wedding from folklore dances to general vibes. i can not say the same thing for central anatolian or eastern anatolian dances and music though. i can talk about similarities all day. foods, vocabulary, children's games, communal feasts etc... but i want to talk about central asian influences too. for example in southern turkey people still tend to have a semi nomadic life style. when it is winter they stay in city's but in summers they leave the cities and stay in big nomadic tents in highlands. our languages are like italian and spanish. we also have the same religious termes in general. probably a turkish persons won't understand arabic religious terms but he will understand persian or central asiatic counterparts of these words. we have a shared holiday named nevruz or nowruz. we still have some ttaditions and superstitions that originated with shamanism. like knocking on wood if something bad is mentioned (which is a shamanic tradition to ward off evil spirits. and lastly you say cental asian and balkans have nothing in common at all. i can give you a name that will refute your claim. it is "Ederlezi" or "Hıdırellez". Careful consideration? In reality the most correct statement is that some Turks are more Asian and some are more European. We have genetics from both sides so there is a lot of diversity. For example, even though I am Turkish I have Asian-looking “pulled” eyes as we call them in Turkish. My friends would joke around and call me Chinese because of this, and in reality I probably do have a lot of Chinese blood. And If not Chinese, at least Kazak or Mongol or soemthing like that. So the fact that we border Europe means nothing. Turks in the modern day are an incredible mixture of Asian and European genes so depending on which side powers through in different people, different characteristics come to play. And also just to add, our culture is way more Asian than European. Our cuisine, our religion, everything.

You know what? They're both. Some can be mostly or entirely Asian, and others can be Europeans. Though Turkey is rather more Asian due to its obvious history and the origins of a high percentage of its people that lie in Central and Southwest Asia. And even the natives of the old land of Turkey, called Anatolia, are considered Asians despite some being blonde and Italian-looking or living the "European way". It's all about geology. Turkey is under the Black and Caspian Seas among Middle Easterns and Iranians, which is considered Asian.

It must be weird to be born in regions that are "transitions" between two diverse cultures, race, and/or geography. The same thing is experienced by people who live in Siberia (Eastern Russia) where they're still considered Russian/European by nationality yet appearance-wise they look closer to East Asian. And then there's also Australia where the northern-region population looks more Asian than the southern parts where you have the stereotypical "Steve Irwin" Australian.

Millennia ago they would be comparable to Mongols or Ancient Turkic peoples. The Turks were and still are great nomads who’ve roamed Eurasia for many many generations mixing with local tribes as they went and spreading their culture sometimes violently, sometimes peacefully. Sometimes both. As a European of Indo European descent, I’ve always considered the Turks brothers. I’ll see you all in the Eternal Blue Sky. ❤🇹🇷🇲🇳🇪🇺

When someone learnt that Turkey wasn’t in the European Union surprised and had asked me oh I thought Turkey was in Europe?!? As an turk, we cant say like directly that the we are european or asian . We are just both of them. I can say we are more asian in cultural way and we are more european the way we think . The reason for this may be our geographical location because one end of us is connected to Europe and one other end is connected to asia. Our lifestyle is similar to european individuals. Even though our culture is similar to asia and our way of life is similar to Europe, everyone in these lands is Turkish.
