Yass, been vegan 7 years & I’ve never been B12 deficient because nutritional yeast is so easy to throw in recipes. Vitamin D I’ve always had to supplement even before being vegan, and I always wondered about omegas. Thanks for the helpful info! It’s so important to get vitamin levels checked yearly but so hard to get doctors to approve these tests for some reason!

That's awesome you've been so on top of the B12 and vitamin D! I'm glad we could provide some helpful information! 😄

FWIW, I like the Ovega-3 brand (US). 135mg EP + 270 mg DHA. 1 pill per serving. Vegan. Some of the other brands will require two pill so it seems like you're getting more, but it's half what you get with others. Pricing is confusing in this regard (as with many supplements).

It's so wild. I've been omnivore all my life and I suffer from low vitamin D, iron, and who knows how much else. It's very nice to be able to control my own supplements. So if I'm having trouble getting these from animal foods then I'll be OK being a vegan since I'll still be supplementing.

Could you please recommend a good quality and decently priced DHA/EPA supplement from algae? Thank you so much.

Are there any plans to do a supplement review similar to protein smoothies? Also, could you show the brands that you use or vouch for? Thanks again, it is a joy to have found this channel

Is it good to take multivitamins to ensure you are covering all needs?
@TheVeganGym

A multivitamin is a bit like insurance - while you'll get all the micronutrients you need from a well-rounded plant-based diet, insurance never hurts!

Don’t know where you studied A&P (certainly not at my Medical School) but the human intestinal tract is about 3 to 4 times the length of the body, and the only animals that have more acidic stomach acid than us are carrion eaters. Homo Sapiens has more acidic stomach acid than carnivores, in particular felines and canines. I couldn’t care less what other people eat, but it is kind of sad to see this content creator supporting your misconceptions.

Does wearing sunscreen affect the intake of Vit D / the recommended sun exposure?
@TheVeganGym
@TheVeganGym 6 ай бұрын
Good question! Yes, wearing sunscreen can reduce your skin's ability to produce vitamin D from sunlight, as it blocks UVB rays involved in the vitamin D synthesis process.

Do you take creatine. I have been but I think I'm going to back off because it may be affecting bowel movements due to dehydration.

I haven't regularly taken creatine for many years, but I actually just started taking it daily again 2 weeks ago. It is a great supplement. As long as you drink adequate water, you should be totally fine 🙂
