Honestly it goes either way for me. It's far too soon for a Generation V remake, I'm in no hurry, but it would be nice to have those missing Unova Pokemon for my Home Pokedex. I'd rather wait 2-3 years for a decent game instead of the yearly schedule we've been getting with mediocre products. That and it doesn't help that the Unova hype train gives me flashbacks to the Sinnoh one... And that resulted in BDSP..

I wouldn't say it's far too soon consdiering the games released almost 11 years ago, so remakes now would make sense. It's more about how they plan to remake them is what concerns people here after the release of BDSP

I always think Black and White getting remakes is a bit of a fickle situation because BW is not like 2 versions and then an improved version like Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Black and White are 2 games. BW1 and BW2, i know people want BW2 content to be in this remake but...the BW2 content is just that, sequel stuff, things like the PWT, Cheren and Roxie's gyms wouldn't have happened in BW1, i may be wrong tho but who knows. The best scenario i could think of (which prob won't happen knowing Gamefreak lmao) is port both BW1 and BW2 on the switch to fit in one screen and mabye later in 2025, is to release a Black and White 3/Legends Kyurem, both games revolving around the Original Dragon. But either way tbh, i'm just really happy revisiting Unova in anyway shape or form, that's what Indigo disk gave me which makes me have the biggest goofiest smile on my face. Pokemon on the switch has been wild i will say lol

I dont think we need remakes, now normally I would want and even love a gen 5 remake of both the base and sequel games, however seeing how diamond and sapphire turned out, along with scarlet and violet. Maaaaaybe game freak should just port them to switch.

This is slightly off topic, but in regards to the possibility of gen 10, I think they should skip it and instead use that time to create *"Ultra"* versions of Scarlet and Violet, as in overhaul the base game and refine everything that doesn't work. The base game itself along with it's DLCs can serve as a framework, as it could significantly reduce costs as the developers would be building upon an existing structure rather than starting from scratch. It could also decrease the development time as there would be a substantial amount of content already available to work with. Gen 5 Remakes -> Legends Unova -> Definitive versions of Scarlet and Violet -> Gen 6 Remakes -> Legends Kalos -> Gen 10 -> etc.

While you are thinking logically: Pokemon Company doesn'yt. Also, the last time we had an Ultra version of two games, it wasn't received as well as it was compared to the oriignal. SV deserved better, but I don't want them fixing the game years later. Unless they actively want to give us a Definitive edition like what they did with Pokemon Platinum and Emerald.

We don't really need them but it would be nice to have a way to play the DS games on newer systems, since you'd need to sell a few vital organs to afford used copies of them these days.

Yes and no. For the yes part I'd welcome a proper remake adding stuff from the gens after it. Also yes because Gen 5 is really hard to find official carts for. But I'd stress Gen 5 remakes would benefit from having it's first and second game together plus all events. Add in Mega evolutions again in the main story( but keep N as is but EV trained). The reason is the story doesn't need to be changed for the change in timeline but it would benefit from other things like rebalance of the later areas and it would be fun for the PWT to be as awesome as the Masters 8 arc of Pokemon Journeys. Add in fun overworld encounters and added customization. One thing I did ask Gamefreak for is that the original map is updated but with wild areas sprinkled between the routes in the remakes. I did use a PR pipeline to ask. For style make it Gen8/9 hybrid.

We dont need a remake but a retelling or a B3W3. We need original dragon or full kyurem or gray kyurem. Other than that its not much they can add other than modern mechanics

The best possible solution is to have graphics that are like Kirby of the Stars Wii Deluxe. Pokémon Masters EX looks great and has voice acting despite being a mobile game, but the animations would be bad because the characters would walk and slide at once.

The question shouldn't be if we need Gen 5 remakes or not, rather why people don't want them now. BDSP is the exception to the rule, and even then, Let's Go completely dropped what ORAS did in terms of what a remake could be. That being said, I think fans are being too unreasonable and setting their expectations too high for something that may or may not exist. Personally, I'd like a Gen 5 remake because I've played White so many times I lost count. A new way to experience the games wouldn't be so bad.

This whole remake previous generation games is getting insane, in my opinion. Like what? In a couple of years we will see remakes of X/Y and soon after Sun and Moon; guess this is the price for playing Pokémon for this long. Gen V has, Skyla so I'm all for her. That joke aside, it should be mixed with Black and White 2 content or updated. I know ORAS failed with the Battle Frontier but the Delta Episode was their Emerald homage. Heck, it even allowed players to catch Deoxys which was event locked in Gen III. BDSP left a sour taste for remakes; Gen IV was my favorite generation and Gen IV Pokémon KZbin was the place to be, the memories. I didnt even finish BDSP, left my character in Iron Island with Riley. I was trying to hunt a Shiny Steelix.

it is not about need. It is about what Game Freak/TPC wants to do for the future. I personally want remakes because the original BW is hard to come by these days. BW remake should be like BDSP in my opinion. I believe remakes should be faithful. I rather not see another Legends game since PLA didn't work as a game. They won't remake BW2. New players wouldn't know about the original gen 5 games so they wouldn't care. It be BW remake without the content from the sequels.

We can get rid of remakes altogether. That time and effort can go in to another game. Revisit thise regions from a new angle. I dont even wanna see pokemon outside of open world. I want them to hold gen 10 until 2026. That game would give us the Tears of the kingdom fix. 2025 to close. Guve us DLC for SV 2024 along side a revisit or whatever. Then 2025 give us a legends game. 2026 give us gen 10 and keep that timely cycle. Each game woyld have years of development not jus 2 or 3

Yea legends was a great game in my opinion. I think the legends title could give us all the stories we hear about in the titles. Like the original dragon, maybe first finding mew and the experiments that brought mewtwo to life. So many ideas with legends. I have plenty ideas they could add in open world with the synchro feature and other stuff. That's why I can't look at the same gameplay style again. They had enough games in that linear play style. I think ite a case of ppl not wanting to let go when it comes to the old games.. I stated when red hit the US. I'm over the old gameplay.

As an fan of Gen. 5, I don't want these games to be remake. Not after the controversy of the Gen. 3 remake and the disaster of the Gen. 4 remake. If Game Freak does remake, I can guarantee you it will be inferior to the originals and maybe even worst than BDSP. Personally, I rather they port the original BW & B2W2 into modern hardware or maybe an Legends: Kyurem game than having an remake of Gen. 5.

Gen 5, specifically the initial games, are not only my favourite Pokemon games, but just games in general, of all time. While sth inside me always wanted to see it remaked, now that we've seen BDSP, I'm actually kind of worried whether it'll turn out any good, I've been playing Scarlet recently, and actually have a lot of fun. But still, sth about that release looming in the foreseeable future is worrisome

If they're not going to put their best into it making it a modern remake then what's the point? BDSP I'm sure some people can like it but it kinda misses the whole point of asking for remakes if they're gonna offload it to another company. Better they do a B/W 3, pick the best elements of the 2 into it, build on the unova stuff from the dlc, reference the previous B/W games lore wise, could have a focus on The original dragon or something....but it's a spiritual B/W 3 so u don't feel like you have to play the first 2 unless they drop them on the Nintendo eshop but that'll be a bit of a burnout to have all at once so idk bout that. Oh and no 2 versions just 1 like Legends and have in game choices dictate some of the "version exclusive " encounters

I'm in favor of making remakes because obtaining certain Pokémon is a legit chore. There's a video that shows that it cost a lot of money to play compared Pokémon simply because you have to buy older games to be relevant.
