Just came back from my vacation in the ph for a month after 4yrs. Philippines has changed so much and will definitely be retiring in the ph. Everything is a lot cheaper and everything is there as well. The people, roads and hiways are great..best of all , food everywhere. I ❤️🇵🇭!

I am living in Australia to work and save money but will definitely go back to the Philippines! If not for work and free medical care here, I would not stay. It’s more fun in the Philippines! Although we don’t have extreme cold weather here, it’s still nice to go back home!

Sa thousands of dollars of bills per month di ka nanghihinayang? Theres no such thing as free healthcare in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and even Europe. Kasama yan sa binabayaran mong tax. Even dental, vision and naturapath, chiropractic services di free. Meron naman private healthcare sa Pilipinas P3-6K per month lang ang iba meron pang kasamang life insurance.

We moved back to the Philippines for the same reason as you guys. Living a happy and healthy lifestyle with our 3 children. Canada is just too cold, sad and unhealthy especially during the pandemic and winters. We live in a farm in the valley sorrounded by mountains in an island in Western Mindanao. Hope you guys get reunited soon. Life is short and tomorrow is not promised.

very true like me I went to work in Germany after graduating from college then I moved to the united states when my husband who I met in Germany was stationed in Frankfurt in the US military .now that we are at a certain age and we both are retired I would love to retire in the Philippines but my husband said he will just go there for vacation we do not even have to worry about housing because we already have a house there in the states our health care is also free the only thing that worries me is that hospital in the Philippines is a bet sub-standard unless you go to Manila or Cebu I also learn to be happy where ever I go life is what you make the best of it.

I live in Canada for almost 13 years..all I can say is life here is so flatline..boring plus the cold and dark during winter...yes the opportunity is here,but u have to work very hard to meet the expenses because too much paying of taxes..and before u know it u ended up wasting ur life working and paying the taxes which goes to health care ,education etc.life is too short. ..u don't have to wait to reach ur retirement age to enjoy the Philippines because at that time ,the energy,the spirit was surpasses how u can enjoy it..plus tomorrow is not a promise right,which other people doesn't realize it..save,save ,save and go back home..prepare and have a lot of passive income..

I have a former friend there in Canada who is a former Filipino. He claims he earns lots and lots of money and brags about free stuffs from the government. Free education, free healthcare, free housing, free food. He says he hates everything in the Philippines where you pay for everything yet you earns too little. But wait. free housing? Free food. Maybe he is just exagerating. My common sense says those are not free. I choose to cut ties with him coz nang aapak na ng tao a He is a canadian now. Any clarifucation about these "free stuff from tge government" that he says? Coz my common sense ssys thesre is nothing free. You hace to pay exhuberant taxes for those. As for Philippines I spent 10 weeks at Biliran Islands with my asawa of 4 yrs plus. That area is so much more 3rd world compared to Manila areas. But people are still happy and friendly. I intend moving over in 2025 for good. I.ll be 66 and retired. My asawa will be 45. Build small house for us, me and her family doing the work. One potential issue with Canada is assimilation. I feel like they treat their minorities well but they are socially separated. So, you’ll get fair treatment but you’ll always be a Filipino Canadian and you might feel more Filipino than Canadian. At least, this is what I noticed on several trips to Ontario over the years. For example, if you go to the mall, all groups are separated and you typically don’t see a mixed group at a table or walking as a group in the mall. When the World Cup soccer tournament is being played, everyone supports their native born country. Whenever, I went somewhere with my Filipino wife or Nephews or Nieces, almost always, the clerk would assume that they were not with me (a white guy) when we were placing an order or in line for something. There were times that this behavior annoyed and angered me as I would lift an eyebrow and ask why the aren’t taking my Filipino family member’s order who was obviously with me. Anyhow, I could see why someone would not be so attached to Canada when they may not be fully integrated with the country. If established Canadians don’t mingle with the immigrants, it means that they miss out on networking and this could translate to more of a struggle to find good paying jobs as well. The lost opportunity is not something that will be missed except if you have a harder time paying the bills. This could also be a hidden driver that would cause a Filipino to consider moving back home. So, those are some things to consider when immigrating to Canada or returning home.

It is the same in Australia 🇦🇺. They don't have segregation rules but if they were to be HONEST then they should have "IMMIGRANTS NOT WELCOME!" in some establishments and events... You can feel the WHITE PEOPLE feel superior and make it a priority that the minorities FEEL that way...

I came back from negros oriental last December and I noticed right away that the day is so much shorter here in Massachusetts because it's winter. During wintertime, there's not much for me to do except shop in the mall or go for groceries. It's not like in the Philippines where there's so much to do, so I still miss Philippines. I will definitely go back and forth while I can. All I did here is going to school and work. Though, of course, with a big reward income-wise.

Depends where in Canada you live. Here in my town in Saskatchewan people treat me comers very well and welcome them into the community. Well, the Philippines is now a developing country. In 10-20 years, the standard of living there will almost be like that of a first-world country. Hence, we Filipinos need to return there so we can experience its journey to becoming a developed nation and have a say in how we want it to look in the future. My dream for the Philippines is that even if it became a developed nation, its values, and culture would not change. For me, our culture of family first and community first are the most important Filipino characteristics that we should not forget, because family puts your feet always on the ground, so even if we experience living in luxury because of the massive opportunities that come with being in the first world country, we will stay humble and friendly to everyone.

As long as Philippines stay a GOD fearing country and puts GOD and family first, I think we will be ok. We do have a solid foundation. The Philippines is truly slowly becoming developed, my province of LA Union just got 1 Mall Robinsons put up and another SM in a year or 2, bay walks being develop, New bypass roads to address traffic. This is happening to all of the provinces and next thing you know like you said in 10-20 years we would have lifestyles that's comparable to the WEST. We do now but only in certain areas but given that time line it will be most of the Philippines. I'm super excited and yes I do feel that a lot of Filipinos will come home and trust me Bro, we get a lot of our country men/women messaging us for advice and so on a daily basis as a lot of them want to come back home which is great cause they surely will contribute to the economy here and make it more prosperous as the they usually generate a lot of businesses.One of our subscribers commented, The reverse migration of the older generation and the new from different countries as well as the OFW's returning home is the Future of the country. That stuck to me and is pretty accurate.

Im retired with good health benefits and good retirement money here in US I can visit only for three months maybe but if you are healthy and do business with less tax to pay its good there while youre young . Health wise I wont go back to the episode that we went to a big time heart center doc in Heart Center Phil given sll script and when my husband has vasovagal reaction in Mercury drugstore we cant reach the hospital on time of minutes to revive for me just pray everything will be well in Phil sometimes theres uncertainties and whenever youre comfortable to live no one will stop a plan so stay positive

What? You said food in the US is cheaper? Jollibee meals in the US are double the price of Jollibee meals in the Philippines. If you are retired, you can live in luxury in the Philippines with just 1,000-1,500 dollars a month, but in the US, you can't do that.

A retired person in Canada will be challenged just by rent -($1200 +/ month average in Toronto) if they have not saved much or have adequate pension,many places in the Philippines and especially in the province rent is less than $500-$600, vloggers in Dumaguete rent for that . Of course if you like Cheese and junk food like Potato Chips those can be double the USA price. Fresh fruit is plenty , and you can grow your own , hard to do with Amercan and Canadian Winters, all our bananas , oranges and tropical fruits come from mostly Mexico. I'm retired and so is wife, wishing we thought and made plans for the Philippines earlier, but we're doing it this year..we're vegetarians too ,so we plan a mini farm, raise chicken for eggs.

Po, Having relatives in both countries and traveling around both, it’s very hard to compare and I do think that the economies are strongly linked and move in tandem. Growth rate seems about the same. However, middle age and older Filipinos have it easier in Canada because of the basic healthcare coverage, provided by their taxes. If a person is poor and older, it will be easier in Canada because of health and housing assistance. However, for the young person, I think that the statistics show that Filipinos are way more successful in the US with a mean family income of 93k (2018 survey) per year. This is 50% higher than the average American. They are killing it in every category of success. This is just a theory of mine that the US is more open to immigrants (socially). Filipinos are highly social and network better than the average American. In the US this will mean better economic and advancement opportunity than in Canada that is socially closed, where each ethnic group sticks to itself. Google “Filipino median family income in the United Stats”. See the survey by the Migration Policy Institute.

If you have a Private Insurance, then you are good. PH is improving of their public healthcare, it should be the last resort, if in case your bills is over your medical insurance for a year. For Senior Citizens, you can get free medicines for common disease or maintenance. PH government just sucks at information drive, thus they have to throw medicines because it expires because people, including my parents, do not know that they can get it for free.

It's up to you to live healthy wherever you live. I have been married to a philipina for 40 years now. I have traveled to the Philippines many times for visiting family and most recently for longer-term visits since we both retired. Most comments center on the health benefits of living in the Philippines, both physical and nutritional. I can say it's a mixed bag when viewed from a perspective of a non -philipino. The lifestyle my family is used to in the United States is practically un obtainable for me in the Philippines, so that would mean i would have to live at a lower standard in the Philippines. Not only is land and housing outrageously expensive if you intend to live at a level of equal standard as i would be comfortable with, then high cost of food is even outpacing the average philipinos income, believe me on that issue, i have been to wet markets to buy meat the cost is on par with what i pay in the US. I will commend the public transportation system, which practically eliminates the need for ownership of an automobile unless you live deep in the province or bondoc. I really wouldn't want to compromise on my standard of living that i have, and my asawa agrees 100 percent with my assessment. This was a long response, but it's up to everyone to make their choices but have an informed decision before leaping in with both feet and not with emotional decisions. Remember, parents make sacrifices for their childrens future, so it is also a factor to consider. They are a young couple, so the future of their childrens life as they grow and become adults will be something they must consider as well.

With all honesty the only reason why people,, or atleast me, would move back to the Philippines to retire and live there is the lack of financial ability to sustain the standard of living in Canada or USA. If only we have a paid up house and a monthly guaranteed pension that allows me and my wife to avail of all the necessities and in an old age to hire care givers then I would have no reason to live in the Philippines. I would go there to visit for periods of time. But living there year round is a crazy idea if you can avoid it. The benefits of living in an advance country can never be available in the Philippines even if you have the money. When you transact with government or private sector it takes a long long time to accomplish anything. And unless if you live in an expensive condo in the heart of an commercial district or a house in a quiet gated village you can't avoid driving in small over crowded roads breathing city contaminated air. It's like that too in crowded parts of downtowns in USA or Canada but you have the option stay or travel within the vast widely spread parts of the city where you can do business with the multiple branches of establishments. The Philippines is just a very over crowded country with most activities centered on difficult to navigate areas. Try driving in Philippine cities and towns. There are no parking available most of the time. Even in the big shopping malls it's hard to park. Emergency response there too takes forever. My neighbors in the Philippines all have guns and their vehicle design for medical transport and they have hoses on the ready because the police and firemen and medic people there would usually get stranded in traffic or simply not available until a few hours after the incident. Corruption is way worse in the Philippines than in USA or Canada. Both public and private sector you will have people hinting on you for financial favors to facilitate your business. Just a few years ago my brother had his land surveyed but the paper work never moved because the adjacent land owners refused to sign. He sent people to follow up and nothing happened. Finally we went together and find out that the assessor just needed a little "padangog" slippery money, so he will approve and register the survey to over ride the unwritten policy that adjacent land owners should sign your survey. I can go on forever ranting on all of the bad things in my native land. But I most likely will have no choice but to live there since I cannot afford to stay in USA or in an advance country.

We totally agree Philippines has its down side and you pointed most of them out. The under the table money is normalized here but in places where I am at, our municipal officers don't take bribes, and they want everything done the right way. Hope this extends to other cities in the future. The endless paper works, the lack of parking is annoying for sure, the traffic specially if you live in Manila. For us and the many ppl messaging who are all reverse migrating to Philippines all have the same reasons we all want to get away from the STRESS of the rat race working Mon - Friday even weekends to earn money until we are 65 y.o but have very little time for what is truly important in life. Now the money earned goes down the drain as inflation is Skyrocketing with no pay increase making it harder to earn. Alot of ppl even foreigners are coming here. Other than the downside there are upsides as well like cheap food, significantly lower cost of living, the ppl are the nicest, the endless fun and adventures, can start businesses here, hired help like Nannies are so cheap, there are alot of good private hospitals here if you have the money to pay which are advanced. There are great international schools here as well. And the ppl reverse migrating are not cutting ties with Canada or USA or where ever they came from they'll keep both citizenship just in case they have to send thier kids to University abroad or decide to live a retired life going back and forth. The most important Aspect why we left was that now we have all the time in the world to fucus on our KIDS as they are number 1 priority and we can now also focus on our personal growth and being creative vs living in survival mode which is stressful. Dito sa pampanga at sa lugar namin ang buhay ng mga retired na ay hindi boring dahil umaga palang nasa labas na at nagkikwentuhan. Pagkatapos mag almusal lalabas nanaman at makikipag kwentuhan, pagdating ng lunch nood ng tv at siyesta. Pagdating ng hapon nasa labas na naman at kwentuhan, kapag dumidilim na papasok para magluto ng dinner tapos nood ng tv. Same ang routine halos araw araw, pero di sila nagsasawa. Alam mo kung bakit masaya pa din sila kahit paulit ulit nalang ang routine ng pamumuhay nila na walang magarbong lifestyle, kc hindi sila stress sa buhay.

Sa ibang munisipyo maunlad na din naman. Kung sa pinanggalingan mong probinsya na sinasabi mo na puro kurap parin naman eh baka mga 4th class province parin ang lifestyle. With the massive improvement in the country, it needs more SMEs to feed the hunger of domestic consumers because the country's economy is very domestic-driven.

Medical and pre-natal care is free in Canada, then its good to have it in Canada then fly home to Philippines after, but if its not free then we have top notch medical facilities in Manila, Cebu and many other places. Its just that many filipinos have colonial mentality to consider local medical professionals and medical centers

We don't have Colonial mentalities. I've lived here in the US and Philippines. It's just that the health care system in the US is provided for every citizen. She's not saying the doctors are better. The doctors are great every where.She's pointing out the health care system in the Philippines is expensive compared to the US. Everyone one in the US can qualify for some kind of health care. @@markmene1975 its not her that i refer as having colonial mentality, she's a dual citizen and probably have health insurance and going back to canada is more convenient than going rent a home in BGC or QC to be near a top notch medical facility that will accept foreign madical insurance. I knew them i have followed their vloggs and their journey and in no way do i consider them with a colonial mentality. There are filipinos who have never set foot on foreign soil but still have a ridiculous penchant for everything imported.

I told some family members at a gathering that I'm selling my condo, live off of my investments and retire in the Philippines in a couple of years. I was surprised at the amount of negativity I received. I guess they have a point. I believe it's subjective and depends on your situation as well. I have been fortunate to have lived in Australia for 25+ years and now having lived in Calgary, Canada for 11 years, I still believe am able to not just acclimatize but fully embrace living back in the Philippines. The main concerns my wife has, which I agree with is health care and for me, Internet. these are the two things that are hard to give up being we both work from home and do require ample bandwidth accessibility and taking copious medications and medical visits are free does make the choice much more critical as opposed to comfortable. However, if one can either ignore these and medical requirements are not a priority and having the feeling of being in your own country (not being able to feel like a minority) is a need and not just a want, then absolutely make the move. It is more fun in the Philippines indeed. I agree with your views on "luxury" and what it means for some. Great vid.

I'd say the cities like Makati has alot of expats and close to many amenities like drug stores and Hospitals for sure and not in the remote areas. I don't know your standards but places like BGC can be expensive but you can search Bulacan, Pampanga which are developing and even have a new International Airport and close to highways with lots of amenities as well. There's alot more places but I have not visited them yet... just make sure to bring lots of Glucotabs just in case your sugar drops and your BS monitoring and there are international insurance you can apply for to get coverage just gotta do some research on them.
