Hot take: In crystallised, Lloyd was pretty justified with his anger towards Garmadon, (not with the whole "oni are incapable of caring" though.) since he almost killed him and he also thought that he killed his family. I also thought that personality swap was done pretty well.

Hot take: Wu’s Hunted arc diminished the status of his character. As a baby and younger kid, he was funny and enjoyable to see, but the second he got older and switched back to Dobson’s voice, you expect more wisdom. When he remembers everything, he should have returned to his normal look. It makes it hard to take him seriously for several seasons afterward. His original young design was a lot better as well. By the way, Weevie, great video! You should check your inquiry email at some point as well.

Hot Take: 1.Rebooted was the best thing that came out for Ninjago at the time. Other than the weird love triangle, it is superior over anything we had ever seen. Overlord is a vast improvement in season 3 and the season has a sense atmosphere that season 2 never captured. It is a better final battle compared to whatever season 1-2 were trying to set up. Rather than just rehashing Lloyd vs Overlord, it subverts our expectations by having Lloyd being essentially useless, and forcing Zane to make the ulimate sacrifice

Hot takes: While hunted is my favourite individual season dragons rising is the best thing to come out of ninjago as a whole, so many new characters and locations. I’d love to see a split of the ninja in dragons rising about what to do about jay. This could bring up what Arin talked about in s2p2 with Lloyd almost pushing off finding jay and arins parents. Maybe nya, cole and Kai want to find and help their friend while Lloyd, Zane and sora put helping the dragons ahead. Finally, I think that the end of season 2 was wasted. There was so much build up to the fight between Lloyd and his FATHER taking away the father aspect and just throwing in a random incarnation of evil ruins all of the buildup. He didn’t even fight his dad in the end he just proclaimed that he is the ultimate spinjutzu master with no buildup

My hot takes: 1. Skybound is by far the worst season. While I think that Crystalized, for example, is objectively way worse, I can't bring myself to watch any episode of Skybound, other than The Way Back. It has always been my least favourite season. Back in 2016 it almost made me stop watching Ninjago because my younger self thought 'Wow the new season was so bad, I don't like Ninjago anymore'. Thank god Day of the Departed and Hands of Time pulled me back. But first, the only positives are the songs The Fold made for it (The Pirate Whip (though it's on the lower end of my Whip ranking), Bring on the Pirates & We are Ninjago) and the concept of Nadakhan. A four-armed pirate genie sounds so cool on paper. Sadly it was executed poorly and Nadakhan is one of my least favourite villains. Jay and Nya are very unlikeable. To me they are at least on par with Lloyd in Crystalized, if not worse. The sky pirates are so boring. Most of the villain armies back then had either funny (Kruncha & Nuckal, Chope & Kapau or Blunck & Raggmunk) or cool (Soul Archer & Bansha) second-in commands. Meanwhile Flintlocke, Clancee, Dogshank... I don't care about them. Also episode 1-9 are my least favourite episodes after The Absolute Worst. During my rewatch I skipped so much of them because I just can't stand them. They're so unwatchable to me. Meanwhile The Way Back is actually somewhat decent. I don't get how people don't like it as a finale for this season. If first nine episodes would have been better, Nya's temporary death would actually be one of the saddest moments for me. Add all the plot holes and inconsistencies and the fact that everyone got dumbed down for the whole wishes thing to work and yeah... Lastly, I think the suits are severely overrated and are some of my least favourite. 2. We Rise is better than The Weekend Whip (I love both, but I prefer We Rise by a little bit.) 3. The 11-minute era Whips are a lot better than the pre-movie Whips (Wicked, Arcadian, Shintaro Dungeon & Crystalized together with the OG Whip are my top 5 Whips) The only other pre-movie Whip that comes close is obviously The Ghost Whip.

Hot take: All of the elemental masters should be immune to their own elements, like, Nya should be able to breathe underwater, I know some partially are like Kai because he can hold fire in his hand and with others it just wouldn't make sense like wind or tech but I thought that would be cool and would make elemental powers more interesting.

Hot take: Hands of time suits kinda suck. They just feel sloppy and printing is kinda random especially on Zane. I like the climber suits look a lot better. 2. Season 2 finale kinda sucked. The hole thing was Lloyd vs his father. The first fight on the dark island was way better bacuse garmodon was fighting the overlords control over his body. But I do like that he became good after the fight. +the fight was useless just because the overlord just came back in rebooted and crystallized.

I’ve also never really liked the 2nd half season 2, I would much rather watch the 1st half. The 2nd half feels really slow and boring and the show was building up towards Lloyd and Garmadon fighting for like the last season and a half just for the Overlord to take Garmadon’s place at the last minute. It would have been a terrible ending just not a great one.

Hot Take: I really didn't like the first part of Crystalized. Crystalized isn't a good season, but I'd rather watch the second batch of episodes than the first few. I absolutely hate the prison arc. It just drags the story and it's honestly very pointless. You can choose not to include it and the season barely changed. Also the guards are incompetent for trying to stop the ninja instead of a bigger threat. HOW THE HECK DID THEY NOT SEE PYTHOR ESCAPING ON THAT CRYSTAL DRONE?!!!!! I also hate a lot of the new characters introduced. New Ninja (Not the ones in DR) are insufferable, Mayor Trustable is insufferable, Hounddog Mcbragg was insufferable (Okay, less insufferable here but more insufferable in the second batch), Sally was... actually she was fine, she's the only new character I like. And Mr F was kinda pointless to bring back as they never did anything new with him other than giving him a freaking gun. Listen, Crystalized sucks as a whole, but the first part especially I disliked.

hot take: Rebooted was the worst thing to come out of the ninjago show. it poorly handles most of the main cast. People call it a Zane season but i don’t see it. He just gets a gf and dies. that’s all the focus he gets. Kai is shown to be a total idiot especially in the digiverse and x1 episodes. Wu gets turned evil but nothing interesting is done with his character following that. and i think the less we say about the love triangle the better. the season is also incredibly repetitive like borg getting mind controlled twice? and the fakeout overlord death was stupid. only redeeming qualities of the season imo were Garmadon, Lloyd, and Pythor

Hot take: Skybound is the best season of the show. Everything that was going on between Nya and Jay and making ninja team smaller every episode makes it good. Nadakhan is top 5 villain and one of the most powerful that ninja team has ever faced. The ending was also one of the best that has ever been in the show. All that makes skybound the best season in the show. I think that Nadakhan should come back at some point.
