Do You Have a Set of Snake Boots? You Should...
This is a quick and easy video showing the importance of protecting yourself while walking through the woods, fields, or heck, even tall grass in the heat of summer.

Oh yeah one thing I forgot to mention that I really meant to add was that if you are considering the Lacrosse Brand, they run alittle small. I normall wear a size 13 boot and i had to get a 14 but 13 1/2 would of been perfect.

Sumter County here. Yep. Got the Laceosse last year and still wear my old trusty Rocky lace ups. Take a buck knife every year and stab stab stab the Rocky's, with just a bounce back. Not waterproof after years, but wore new rubber Lacrosse past deer and Turkey seasons , and they were very comfortable . Didn't see first snake in woods, but killed a copperhead, walking dog, tonight, in my pasture, behind my house, and one last week in the yard ! Had in flip flops! Lol Carry mag light and pistol now, to walk bulldog. Good job, bud

I recently picked up the same pair of LaCrosse boots for some insurance while doing some ham radio work in the back country. I'm constantly climbing summits and bushwhacking through brush. We have pit vipers out here (rattle snakes). Great video and thanks for spreading the word!

@@PalmettoPrepared Yep, I was testing out the LaCrosse boots on video I just released. Even though it's not snake season yet, I ran into a red racer while filming, but didn't catch the dang snake on film. Later, bro.

Brother opening day of archery season last year in northwest Florida I had one of my arrows fall out of my quiver and I was looking for it. I was slipping through the woods and I heard leaves move next to my foot. I looked down and seen the 4 inch rattles . This thing had a head as big as my fist and it’s body was as big around is my forearm. Needless to say I’m in the market for some snake boots !

I never go into the woods without them. This last turkey season I was 5 inches from stepping on a copperhead. Sure I was wearing the boots but that's how easy it is to do. Especially while hunting. You can't look up for game and walk safely in the south. Too many venomous snakes

Hes not lying about the copperhead. I fish alot and walk through thick woods and creeks, and I constantly look for snakes. One day after looking around, I sat down on a bank and cast my rod. A couple minutes later I hear leaves ruffling, so I turn around and copperhead was sitting about 2 feet behind me. Even after it moved I looked right at it and it took a moment for my eyes to catch it, it was almost invisible at first, until it fully slithered off.

I need a pair of boots. I have copper heads and cotton mouths. Just dispatched a copperhead a couple of weekends ago. Also, always walk with a good 4-5' stick in case you come across one and to disturb the leafs or grass ahead of where your foot will land.
@PalmettoPrepared
@PalmettoPrepared 4 жыл бұрын
Oh absolutely, i used the stick trick growing up religiously. Especially with cottonmouths. Those suckers will chase you, especially if you get close to the nest. Honestly the ones that worry me are the juvenile copperheads with the green tip tail. Theyre small and inject everything in one strike

I'm a tetrachromat and my son is partially color blind ( so was my mom). While I agree with much of what you said, true hiking in snake boots will tear your body up,due to thier lack of flexion. If you're going to hike( or you already have boots but they aren't very tall) invest in snake gaitors. FWIW

Very important to have them when fishing here because the cottonmouth hangs out next to water, hides between the rocks, and is very aggressive. Eventually you get used to seeing them and looking for them but even now i still get surprised from time to time.

We are in the process of buying some acreage in Eastern Tennessee and we are getting educated on snakes. My husband found a pair that fit well at BPS I unfortunately haven’t found anything that fits comfortably. These manufacturers need to think about making more women’s options. The men’s section has plenty to choose from for him. I think I’ll have to resort to buying a bunch on line then just returning all the ones that don’t fit well.

I guess since its so wet here in the spring, you get used to wearing muck boots so its not too much of a difference wearing these. Hell as a kid, i never wore snake boots and we would come up on snakes all the time. Luckily here, the eastern diamondback is pretty good at rattling to let you know youre close but the canebreak or timber rattlesnake is a mean son of a gun. They sit still and will strike you as you walk over the log, rock, etc. This is why I love king snakes so much. You get a king snake on your property, you dont have to worry about venomous snakes very much anymore

The boots that are highlighted in this video are quite expensive. I saw another video that covered the same subject and he tested several brands and found that work rubber boots costing about $15 work well and are much less expensive. Rubber work boots are used in many areas with lots of venomous snakes outside the US because they are so much cheaper.
