I use caffeine very sparingly, rather than daily or weekly. For pain relief as an "analgesic stack" Caffeine (60mg - 120mg) synergizes with Acetaminophen (1000mg) and Ibuprofen (400mg - 1200mg) for AMAZING pain relief. For tests and exams, especially early morning, when I need a bit of an extra stimulant to focus and not go ADHD. For competitions or tests for certifications when I need a physical performance boost. Otherwise, I completely avoid the stuff as much as I can.

When I was 8 in 1976, my family doctor told my parents to give me coffee to counteract my hyperactivity. I used to drink six pots of coffee for years until about six years ago, when I slowly lowered my coffee intake to two or three cups a day now. I want to share a pitfall if caffeine. I have been taking pre workout drinks for about 20yrs. So much that now I have acid reflux. In my case it was “silent” reflux where it wasn’t heartburn but it demonstrated as a cough. The acid reflux ended up causing a small growth on my throat from irritation. I know share my story with young kids at the gym to not even start. Save your health and money.

Does upregulation affect how tired one feels, the rate of absorption of adenosine, or the maximum amount of adenosine that can be absorbed? Or, is the rate at which ATP is broken down more significant?

Is the effect of caffeine on the cardiovascular system also directly related to adenosine receptor blocking?

I had Supra Ventricular Tachycardia . Eventually having an RF Ablation. I am no stranger to ADENOSINE pushes intraveinously to "snap my heart rate back form 180 beats /minute to normal. Can you explain why ADENOSINE pushes are so dramatic to the patient and why only ambulance paramedics are allowed to carry it or the Emergency ward ? Plus why do they administer Adenosine ? Cheers.

i love both tea and coffee. Coffee has no effect on me that I can tell. It will not keep me awake at all. I drink it because I love the taste. But Im happy for just one a day. Tea, though, is my great love. Still no effects but utter delight for my first cup LOL. This video was interesting!

And my reaction is exactly the opposite-tea is blah to me, and coffee is much better. I can’t understand why anyone would drink tea.

I try to warn people not to drink super caffeinated energy drinks, because it can cause a heart attack. But nobody listens to me. I drink a cup of coffee every day but after seeing this I am going to go down on my caffeine intake.

So with it making the heart beat more frequently and possibly more forcefully, does this cause the heart to deteriorate or have future problems in the long run?

How does all this relate to people who get a calming effect from caffeine? For example: Caffeine used to put me to sleep when I was an occasional user. Now that I use it when I have a migraine (I have chronic migraine,) it doesn't put me to sleep, but it still has a calming effect on me.
@b647712 ай бұрын
hot liquid is the comfort, not the stimulant caffeine. Caffeine can help migraines though. Separate things going on.

Interesting about how those adenosine receptors increase. How long is it until they get removed naturally? Would you make a video about how cinnamon and nutmeg work in the body because you're able to explain things clearly.

1 to 2 cups and I feel like I have adjusted to the universe 😁But more than that or at the wrong time and my sleep is ruined. I also suffer from anxiety so I take supplements for it like ashwagandha which really helps offset the bad effects of caffeine.

I try to keep my caffeine intake to the morning. This way at night I can get to sleep without much trouble. If you have it anywhere near mid-day it can cause issues if you go to bed at a reasonable hour.
@susear59392 ай бұрын
It does take about 12hrs for caffeine to fully exit the system. That's why it is suggested to limit your caffeine intake to max 8hrs before sleep. The minor caffeine content in some teas has been shown to be fine for me if I consume it at night.

Why does it cause anxiety? What’s the mechanism of that effect? I once had four double-shot espressos in a day, and the last one caused pretty noticeable anxiety, so that I couldn’t even focus on my work.

i drink white tea every day and occassionally caffeinated coffee. When I drink coffee, I'll usually drink it 3 or 4 days in a row and then not all for a couple or more weeks. The biggest thing I notice is that when I am tired and in need of sleep, drinking coffee, the few times I've done so when tired, makes me even more tired. Instead of a "rush" I'll get just the opposite. Strange.
