Actually, Roman is still alive. Kate is dead. Obviously the revenge ending is canon. The sky is clear and always sunny compared to the depressing sad ending of Deal. The deal ending is always dark, depressing and also rain. Which shows you picked the wrong ending. Also for Niko's character, he feels more sadder at Roman's death then Kate. Both endings are sad but deal ending is depressing as shit!!!! Also after Niko kills Dimitri in deal ending, the statue of happiness is showed from the back side which also shows you picked the wrong ending and this is not the statue of happiness. This is the statue of sadness and depression unlike revenge ending which shows the right side of the statue of happiness.

I'm not so sure. Deal ending is, in my opinion, so much better written it makes me feel like Revenge ending got into the game only because Rockstar chickened out of making the storyline unavoidably so depressing. A happier ending doesn't always make a better ending, and I think there was no real choice in the original plans, Roman was certain to die. Otherwise Katie would have been more prominent. This way she makes no impact. When I chose not to date her, I felt like "what is she even doing here and why? She has no reason to be here". Kind of a weird question to ask two minutes before she dies. Not to mention, Dimitri Rascalov is the real main villain of the story. It feels way much less cathartic when the final challenge is against some random Jimmy Pegorino you didn't even meet until the 70% story progression mark.

The deal ending feels more natural because of the fact that niko ''learned'' that revenge is not an option when he finded out that killing or spare darko would not change how he feels, so he thought that dealing with dimitri and forgetting the past was a better idea than living with revenge hunger

Niko would have never make a deal with Dimitri after knowing he was a complete rat, he can't be that stoopid, there are a few reasons to spare Darko, but there is not a single one reason to spare Dimitri, unlike Darko, he was still a menace for Niko and Roman, taking him down was the wise decision, not dealing with him, but the thing is, Niko makes mistakes, and the Deal ending feels more depressing and it fits, but isn't the smartest for Niko. And yes, if Niko kill Darko he learns that ''revenge isn't good'' but as I said, Darko was a complete mess, he was suffering just being alive, and he was no longer a menace.

I recently finished GTA 4 over the span of 50 hours because I was so immersed in it; as if living a second life. I thought Dimitri would become part of Niko's friends, until he betrayed him which was so shocking. Since Roman's Sorrow, the mere mention of Dimitri brings me back to the moment he betrayed us, full of rage and also fear. I really was immersed in the world.

There's no right or wrong answer for these tho. It's just a multiple choice option for which way the story plays out, there's pros and cons in both options. I used to select a different save slot so I could continue with each option but never got around to actually completing all of the scenarios. It sucks aswell that we can no longer play any of the old GTAs except the the trilogy (which is shite BTW, and riddled with bugs and glitches). I never got to clear "The Lost" in Liberty City Stories and never played Vice City Stories or ChinaTown Wars at all.

What choices I think are canon: - *First Date* = Rescue Roman, because look at how mad Niko got at those guys in the previous mission when he met them. He said he'd kill them if they came back after him, and he wouldn't intentionally miss the chance to do that just to take some girl on a date. - *Ivan the Not So Terrible* = Spare Ivan, as he will be reported "missing" in police files regardless of choice, which would obviously not happen if he died in the street. Also, Niko said in the opening cutscene that he doesn't want to be Vlad's hitman. - *Ruff Rider* = Spare Cherise, as the police files in TLAD and TBOGT will never list her as anything but alive. Plus, Dwayne never asked Niko to kill her, he just wanted his money. - *Holland Nights* = Kill Clarence, as in the next mission, Lure, the dealer will say "you killed Clarence, man." Unless you spare him, then kill him in his side mission, then there's no way sparing him is canon. But the side mission is unlocked after Lure, so it still doesn't add up. - *The Holland Play* = Kill Playboy, as Niko seemed to have much sympathy for Dwayne and I don't see why he would turn on him. - *Blood Brothers* = Kill Derrick, as in GTA V, if chosen for the gunman in The Paleto Score, Packie will mention that Derrick is dead. Also, in Out of Commission, Packie will say that his mother hasn't got much else left other than himself. This makes sense if Francis is still alive, as he restrains himself from his family. - *That Special Someone* = Spare Darko, since in the Deal mission, If the Price is Right, Niko can sometimes say to Phil on the way to Port Tudor that he's not looking for revenge, only money. If you kill Darko, he will realise that revenge doesn't seem to help him, and considering Revenge is canon, sparing Darko probably is too. - *One Last Thing* = Revenge, as Roman's cab company is still active as of 2013 and known as "Roman's Taxi Company". Also, the plane crash in Departure Time from TBOGT can be seen in the background of Out of Commission, which makes sense as Timur also mentions Rascalov's death in that same mission.

Killing Dwayne wouldn't be in-character for Niko. The LCPD files in TBoGT/TL&D list him as "In Custody". It's possible Derrick died from an overdose, but I think Niko would've killed him on account of the former being a rat. Niko ordering alcohol is not sufficient proof.

I'm just getting started have not played in a while since I switched to GTA V. Here is what you do Do Bleed Out first rescue Roman then give Karen a call after it is complete. Don't let her call you or the date is off. Next spare Ivan and spare Cherise kill Francis and Clarence they betrayed you. Plus Derrick McReary dies in the Liberty City Bank Job so killing him is not cannon. Kill Playboy X but spare Drako. Take Revenge and kill Rascalov then do the Liberty City Bank Job in Three Leaf Clover to complete the game.

A thing about the Francis-Clarence arc, it's obvious that Francis used the services of Clarence's prostitutes. Perhaps Clarence even has proof of those encounters. If Francis went against Clarence the "right" way, he would uncover his own dirt. The only good thing about Francis is that at least he admits his mistakes, if only he would just stop comitting them. He's too stupid for the role he aspires to get, proven by how easily it is for others to blackmail him. Even Niko makes him shudder when he tells him how much he wants for his services. And honestly, even if you let him live, his brother Gerry getting incarcerated should be enough to tank his reputation, making all of Niko's dirty work for Francis meaningless, at least from Francis' point of view.

Sparing Ivan is the best option because Vlad is a Jerk. I first killed Dwayne because he’s been to Prison but Playboy is a Jerk who didn’t appreciate it even though he asked me to kill Dwayne. Killing Playboy is definitely the best outcome especially getting Claude’s outfit. Killing Francis is also the best option because he told me to kill his Brother what a Psychopath. My favorite choice is killing Dimitri in Revenge.

actually you didn't finish the duane storyline, as i remember you can bump into his girlfriend once more after which he asks you to come to some area near water on the last iland and you either kill him or run away and after that he just calls you and talks drunk shit
