do you think i could mount this on its side? say under a car seat? would the mechanics still work horizontally?

I mean.. you probably could, but because it's meant to function upright, I can't guarantee it'll function properly and with something like a firearm, I wouldn't want to risk it getting stuck on something when I needed it ya know.. Can't recommend that, but I'm sure they have other options.

I imagine so. My G45 fits pretty well. It’s like a generic opening, so you gotta kind of force it in place and it sticks pretty easily
