I really like the format of this video. Clear, concise & practical. I appreciated that you spoke about considerations for choosing friction ring vs. pin detent. It might have been a nice addition if you'd made similar comments regarding choice of 3/8" vs. 1/2" drive. Great job overall!

I'm gonna buy one. I need to change the clutch in my car, along with some suspension components. The subframe will have to come off, so I want to have that power at my disposal in case I have some stubborn bolts/nuts. I think I'm going to wait until the sales begin, though. Hopefully Black Friday will bring good deals.

Awesome explanation! Excellent job brother! I’m a huge fan of Milwaukee impacts I have an M12 3/8 Stubby for fixing snowmobiles in my sled shop! If I could pick one I would totally go for a 3/8’s mid in the M18, it would definitely get some solid use this winter! Keep crushing out the content really solid video! 👊😎

I've have the big impact for over a year now and it never ceases to amaze me but I am looking to buy a mid size since that would handle 99.99% of my jobs between working on cars and things around the house. Less bulky and enough torque to get the job done. Definitely a must have.

As always a well done and informative vid. However I disagree if you can only have one go High Torque. The High Torque will get the stubborn fasteners that the others may not be able to tackle and prevent you from having a bad day. The other tools are great as well but relative to the High Torque model they're more for convenience. The compact, Stubby and Mid-Torque will help you work faster but a good ratchet set/open box wrenches can usually tackle what they do. That being said I own a variety of them.

I know it’s to late, but I’m a public transportation mechanic and have been looking into Milwaukee for a few weeks now, the think I absolutely love about Milwaukee is the different options for batteries from the m12 up to the m18, I have been using Snap-on impacts for the longest and noticed that the 7.2 battery wasn’t strong enough to make a simple bolt torqued to 100 pounds or less break lose, a coworker took his m18 and just zipped it off as if it was finger tight!!! Anyways Amazing video and definitely going to have to get myself a mid torque impact wrench by Milwaukee to do roadcalls and deplete the whole 100 ft of hoses throughout the shop tripping and causing harm to self!

The mid torque is by far the best bang for the buck , the stubby (m12) or the compact is a very close second and the high torque is like trying to hunt squirrels with an RPG when it comes to automotive work lol honestly the only thing I've really NEEDED the high torque for is rusted in crank bolts or heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment most of the time I use the stubby for cars and trucks as large as ram 3500 diesels and anything I can't get with the little guy the mid torque breaks no prob ! But get yourself a set of jdtco shock straps for the batteries it will prevent the batteries from become loose and worn and they're really cheap and effective the boots are also a really good investment however Milwaukee is really good about their warranty
@joehertel8846
@joehertel8846 3 жыл бұрын
Get yourself the regular ratchet and the m12 stubby in 3/8 spring for the fuel 1/2 inch ratchet high speed or extended reach , the m12 die grinders are awesome and work really well and grab the 1/2 inch mid torque for heavy stuff unless your doing heavy diesel equipment in which case the high torque in 1/2 inch is your best bet , the mid torque will work for some of it but I feel like it's straining the tool when you use it for that application but for most cars and trucks I use my m12 stubby 3/8 and the m12 ratchet the most and the mid torque only for really stubborn stuff the high torque will snap wheel studs right out if youre not careful with it though just fair warning lol

The right angle impact is awesome for suspension and bumper work. The m12 stubby and m18 compact are also great choices. They’re both powerful enough to take off most lug nuts. The mid torque is a nice back up tool but honestly I’d say get one of the smaller ones and a breaker bar. The high torque is overkill for automotive. It’s just too bulky and heavy for constant use.

I bought one, it’s killer for taking things apart, but honestly has too much torque for a car installation use. Ask me how i know, trailer wheel almost came off when running them in and not even trying to tighten the lug nuts. The compact or mid torque is good for most car applications.

@T62vair 3 жыл бұрын

@@T62vair go mid or compact and get a breaker bar. I have all 3 and the high torque is overkill and it’s VERY heavy. So I'm a technician, I have bought the milwaukee 1/2" impact and it is so amazing. It has started an addiction for me, and the 3/8 stubby is what does it for me

I have the compact M12 and it has been awesome. Working as a maintenance man for an RV Resort it has completed every task I have asked of it. I have seen a need for a mid torque for some automotive tasks though.

I am a truck and coach appreciate and one of these would be a great addition to my tool box. I would use it pull out transmission as I work at a transmission shop.

I am currently making my mini bike road legal and adding a bunch of performance modifications. I just recently got into the Milwaukee lineup because of this project and many more to come. A torque wrench is the next thing I needed and that mid torque wit the 1/2 inch anvil and friction ring is catching my eye. I’m always looking for tools that can stand up to the abuse I give them and still perform flawlessly and these Milwaukee tools are it.

I plan to use my new Milwaukee M18 Fuel impact wrench to remove and rotate tires on our SUV and golf cart (plus, I’ll carve a special Belts and Boxes place for it in one of the Kaizen foam inserts I’m ordering for my new Packout toolboxes). 👍 Love your show!

I bought 3/4 drive high torque for refinery. Last night I used it to remove 2'3/8 bolts on a flange on an exchanger. Was only able to loosen up 2 with the battery running out. It works really well with 1'1/4 to 1'5/8 nuts though.
